A pod of spinner dolphins greet the M/Y Esperanza in the waters of Tanon Strait between the provinces of Cebu and Negros Oriental. Dolphins face numerous threats such as fishing, chemical pollution and even land based pollution like plastics. The Tanon Strait is home to 11 out of the 24 species of cetaceans in the Philippines. The Greenpeace ship M/Y Esperanza is on its way to its next stop of the Ocean Defender Tour Philippine leg.
