Engagement Systems Coordinator

As the Engagement Systems Coordinator, you will be responsible for the growth and development of our online movement for Greenpeace Southeast Asia. Bringing best practice, innovative digital system strategies and implementation to our work, you will generate meaningful digital engagement – for a variety of project and organizational priorities across our digital communications channels. Enhancing our online activism, online community building and developing an online movement will further support the digital needs of our organization.

This is a full-time position for locals based in either Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur or Manila. For non-nationals this is fixed-term contract (minimum of 2 years) based in Kuala Lumpur or Jakarta, subject for visa immigration approval.

Key Duties

1. Digital System Strategy & Implementation

  • Develop, coordinate, and align digital products and system management. 
  • Standardizing sites and petitions from the back-end to ensure effective flow of data between EN and SF (Universe)
  • Developer Capacity Building, both providing the capacity and building a list of available developers for Project Teams to use
  • Support the Database Reports Officer and the Data & Engagement Strategy Manager to connect data systems with reporting mechanisms across digital channels

2. Implementation of new Greenpeace global CMS

  •  Implementation of the new Greenpeace global CMS across 5 country sites in 4 languages. Work with global, regional and country team project managers to oversee the front end delivery of the wordpress CMS. Ensure adequate staff training and ongoing maintenance troubleshooting across Southeast Asia. Work with the global community to improve and update the system, supporting teams to use innovative testing and creative content delivery.  

3. Monitoring & Analysis 

  • Regularly assess the digital systems and technologies to ensure they are reaching their potential and are not redundant
  • Research online global best practices and build key strategic relationships with other specialists across the sector to ensure we are able to meet our external impact targets

4. Project Support

  • Provide  the systems tech support for our digital engagement strategy implementation for projects
  • Contribute to integration of brand, project and audience strategy development through improvement and innovation of systems.

Educational Background & Fundamental Qualifications


Level of Education:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Digital Marketing, Social Marketing, Communications, Web Design (or relevant industry experience) 

Work Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience

Functional Skills

  • Knowledge and/or experience in developing online organization and mass mobilization strategies
  • Knowledge and/or experience in online organizing theory and practice
  • Knowledge and/or experience in communicating ideas in a simple and effective manner.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in working with diverse teams and multi-cultural arrangements
  • Knowledge and/or experience in digital activism and movement building
  • Knowledge and/or experience in training
  • Knowledge and/or experience in producing written and visual communications for diverse audiences
  • Knowledge and/or experience in technical support for common channels and basic programming
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Salesforce and/or Engaging Networks is desirable
