Greenpeace Find Forest Destruction Evidence in Second Day of ‘Tiger’s eye Tour’

the activists tried to see the condition of important tiger habitat forest, Senepis Forest in Rokan Hilir District, Riau Province. Senepis is a peat forest. In 2007, the Ministry of Forestry designated this area to be a conservation forest for the Sumatran Tiger. Now, however, the forest is owned by three companies, two of them belonging to Sinar Mas’ Pulp and Paper Division (PT. Ruas Utama Jaya and PT Suntara Gaja Pati). And when the activists arrived at Senepsis Forest, they saw only destroyed forests.
