Digital Support Intern

Job - March 26, 2015
The Digital Support Intern will help Greenpeace Southeast Asia - Philippines Digital Communications team to catalyze, activate, grow, and maintain the vitality of Greenpeace Philippines’ online communities to support external impact and internal strengthening of Greenpeace Philippines' campaigns and projects. Build a relationship with digital platform users to feed, generate and extract content relevant to GPSEA Philippines' work.

Greenpeace is an international non-profit global campaigning organization. Our independence and global reach enables us to stand for positive change through action in order to defend nature and promote peace. We investigate and expose global environmental problems, confront those in positions of power and present alternative solutions.

As a digital support intern, you will focus on mobilizing support for our campaign work. We need a self-motivated, environmentally-minded individual who understands how digital tools can help influence the debate to bring about change. We are looking for someone who can grasp the issues, spot opportunities, and mobilize Greenpeace supporters to intervene in some of the most dynamic and important debates of our time.

In any given week your work will cover a wide range of topics, requiring you to work on one or more of our campaigns – to demand climate justice and stop climate change, defend our oceans, eliminate toxic chemicals, and promote ecological agriculture.

You’ll be great at spotting opportunities to intervene in the online debate about Greenpeace campaigns, and be able to translate complex political, scientific and environmental information into succinct and clear messages that successfully reach new and existing supporters. As well as your communication, interpersonal skills and diplomacy, this role will test your ability to organize and improvise. You will need to be equally adept in facing and communicating with openly hostile audiences as with the passionately supportive. You will also have an understanding of the value of investigative work and of the role of mobilizing people towards action.
