Greenpeace awarded to the Japanese prime minister Taro Aso the "Not So Noble prize". The prize was delivered by Greenpeace to the Japanese ambassador to Sweden for Japanese government's achievements in "Weird justice". The award is a reaction to Japanese legal action against two Greenpeace activists who in May 2008 exposed the embezzlement of whale meat from the taxpayer-funded whaling fleet. Japanese authorities responded to the exposure by a politically motivated prosecution, arresting Junichi Sato and Toru Suzuki. The trial is expected to begin early next year and both activists are facing up to 10 years imprisonment. The 40 activists that attended the ceremony also sent another message to Japan: If defending whales is a crime, arrest ME too!12/10/2008
