Greenpeace Canada to hold larger-than-life\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

street art murals in Montreal and Vancouver<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0to push for climate action<\/b><\/p>\n

October 5th, 2019 (CANADA) \u2013<\/b> Following the massive climate marches that occurred last Friday, September 27th, across Canada, and exactly two days before the Leaders\u2019 Debate scheduled on October 7th, Greenpeace Canada volunteers and allies are organizing <\/span>two street art mural actions in Montreal and Vancouver this coming Saturday, October 5th* to push political leaders to increase their climate ambition and act on the growing climate crisis.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Two weeks before the ballots are cast, the artistic events aim to showcase yet again civil society\u2019s message reminding politicians to take more ambitious measures to respond to the growing climate crisis. These participatory events will see hundreds of people collectively paint the murals.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Vancouver, the mural will be painted at <\/span>the TransMountain pipeline terminus in Burnaby.<\/b><\/p>\n

The design for the Montreal mural was created with Indigenous local <\/span>artist Meky Ottawa, member of the Atikamekw Nation<\/b>. And in Vancouver, with\u00a0 <\/span>Ocean Hyland, member of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation<\/b> in British Columbia,\u00a0 and <\/span>Brandon Gabriel, member of the\u00a0 Kwantlen First Nation <\/b>in British Columbia .<\/span><\/p>\n
