{"id":45020,"date":"2020-12-08T11:57:36","date_gmt":"2020-12-08T16:57:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/canada\/?p=45020"},"modified":"2020-12-08T12:05:50","modified_gmt":"2020-12-08T17:05:50","slug":"transmountain-a-pipeline-only-profitable-in-worst-case-scenarios","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/canada\/en\/press-release\/45020\/transmountain-a-pipeline-only-profitable-in-worst-case-scenarios\/","title":{"rendered":"TransMountain: a pipeline only profitable in worst case scenarios."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Toronto &#8211; December 8, 2020 &#8211;<\/strong>&nbsp; In reaction to the Parliamentary Budget Office financial and economic&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbo-dpb.gc.ca\/en\/blog\/news\/RP-2021-035-S--trans-mountain-pipeline-financi%5B%E2%80%A6%5Dns-mountain-considerations-financieres-economiques-mise-jour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">update&nbsp;<\/a>on TransMountain,&nbsp;<strong>Keith Stewart, senior energy strategist, Greenpeace Canada<\/strong>&nbsp;commented :&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cThis makes a really important point on how support for TMX is utterly at odds with the Trudeau government\u2019s climate commitments. This pipeline is only profitable in a worst-case climate scenario, where the world takes no new action on climate change.
