Among them is Victoria Henry, a Canadian woman from Burnaby, B.C.<\/p>\n<p>The Greenpeace International volunteers climbed onto the\u00a0<i><em>Stolt Tenacity<\/em><\/i>\u00a0tanker at dawn on Saturday,\u00a0and delayed its journey from Indonesia to The Netherlands for almost two days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The climbers were protesting a\u00a0185-metre\u00a0long cargo loaded with palm oil products from Wilmar, the biggest palm oil trader in the world, which trades in palm oil associated with rainforest destruction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIn delaying this shipment of dirty palm oil, these brave activists have shone a light on how the palm oil industry needs to change in order to prevent a further climate and extinction crisis. This must start with Wilmar, the world\u2019s largest palm oil trader who can and should be an example to the others. We also demand that Mondelez, makers of Oreo cookies, drop Wilmar as a supplier until it can prove it no longer trades palm oil from forest destroyers\u201d,\u00a0<b><strong>said Kiki Taufik, Greenpeace spokesperson.<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wilmar is a major supplier to global snack food giant Mondelez, one of the world\u2019s largest buyers of palm oil, which it uses in many of its best-known products, including Oreo cookies, Cadbury chocolate bars, and Ritz crackers. Canada was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mondelezinternational.com\/en\/~\/media\/MondelezCorporate\/Uploads\/downloads\/OREO_Fact_Sheet.pdf?_ga=2.218786777.1103127336.1542579137-552072637.1539723772&amp;_gac=1.11676416.1541105340.EAIaIQobChMIkuuy24i03gIVj8pkCh0YkQYNEAAYASAAEgIty_D_BwE\">named<\/a>\u00a0by Mondelez as one of the Oreo cookies&#8217; biggest markets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The\u00a0<i><em>Stolt Tenacity<\/em><\/i>\u00a0was safely scaled early Saturday morning by the six women and men from Indonesia, Germany, the UK, France, Canada, and\u00a0the US. No charges have been made against the climbers by the shipping company or the authorities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Greenpeace ship Esperanza is remaining in the area to keep watch over the tanker,\u00a0<i><em>Stolt Tenacity<\/em><\/i>, which is still carrying the dirty palm oil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The plantation sector\u2014palm oil and pulp\u2014is the single largest driver of deforestation in Indonesia.
