The new pipeline would run from Alberta tar sands, across Indigenous lands, to the British Columbia coast, where tankers would carry tar sands oil through Pacific Ocean waters, <a title=\"The Guardian\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2016\/nov\/16\/canada-oil-pipeline-expansion-killer-whales-kinder-morgan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">threatening orca whales on the brink of extinction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Indigenous leaders and supporters will meet at <a title=\"Protect the Inlet\" href=\"https:\/\/protecttheinlet.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Kwekwecnewtxw<\/em><\/a> \u2013 the Watch House \u2013\u00a0 and move towards Kinder Morgan\u2019s construction zone where many may choose to take bold action in opposition to the proposed tar sands pipeline and tanker project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday is the first day of a wave of actions that follows\u00a0<a title=\"Greenpeace blog\" href=\"\/canada\/en\/issues\/transform-energy\/630\/10000-people-stand-strong-to-protect-land-and-water-from-kinder-morgan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an incredible 10,000-person march last weekend<\/a>. People will be mobilizing daily against this dangerous oil mega-project.
