{"id":5306,"date":"2018-10-05T09:00:52","date_gmt":"2018-10-05T13:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/canada\/?p=5306"},"modified":"2021-12-06T06:33:12","modified_gmt":"2021-12-06T11:33:12","slug":"une-annee-dinaction-supplementaire-pour-la-protection-du-caribou-boreal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/canada\/fr\/story\/5306\/une-annee-dinaction-supplementaire-pour-la-protection-du-caribou-boreal\/","title":{"rendered":"Une ann\u00e9e d&rsquo;inaction suppl\u00e9mentaire pour la protection du caribou bor\u00e9al"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il y a un an exactement, nous vivions un grand moment pour les esp\u00e8ces en danger au Canada\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apr\u00e8s cinq longues ann\u00e9es, la date limite \u00e0 laquelle <strong>les gouvernements provinciaux devaient d\u00e9voiler leurs plans pour prot\u00e9ger le caribou bor\u00e9al<\/strong> \u00e9tait enfin arriv\u00e9e. Bien que les populations de cette esp\u00e8ce aient \u00e9t\u00e9 en d\u00e9clin depuis des d\u00e9cennies, la science \u00e9tait claire sur ce qu\u2019il \u00e9tait n\u00e9cessaire de faire: <strong>la plus grande menace<\/strong> qui p\u00e8se sur le caribou bor\u00e9al est la <strong>destruction de son habitat par l\u2019industrie<\/strong>. Et la <strong>mesure la plus importante<\/strong> pour le sauver de l\u2019extinction est de <strong>prot\u00e9ger les for\u00eats anciennes intactes<\/strong> dont il a besoin pour survivre. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"width: 50%; margin: 0 auto;\" align=\"center\"><a class=\"btn btn-primary btn-medium page-header-btn\" href=\"https:\/\/act.gp\/2Oah4pa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Signez la p\u00e9tition<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La t\u00e2che \u00e9tait pourtant claire. Et le temps allou\u00e9 aux provinces pour faire des recherches, se regrouper, \u00e9changer, consulter et monter leur plan \u00e9tait largement suffisant. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le grand jour est finalement arriv\u00e9\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Et\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Aucune des provinces n\u2019a su proposer de plan cr\u00e9dible pour prot\u00e9ger le caribou. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Une ann\u00e9e compl\u00e8te est pass\u00e9e depuis ce jour. La situation s\u2019est-elle am\u00e9lior\u00e9e depuis? Voyons donc quelques<strong> \u201cmoments forts\u201d<\/strong> qui ont eu lieu au cours des 12 derniers mois: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apr\u00e8s avoir donn\u00e9 son <strong>aval \u00e0 l\u2019industrie pour d\u00e9truire toujours plus l\u2019habitat<\/strong> du caribou de Val-d\u2019Or, le gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec a annonc\u00e9 qu\u2019<\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ledevoir.com\/societe\/environnement\/522185\/quebec-laissera-les-caribous-de-val-d-or-disparaitre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">il serait trop co\u00fbteux de sauver cette harde<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> et qu\u2019il fallait se r\u00e9soudre \u00e0 les abandonner \u00e0 leur triste sort (heureusement, certaines Premi\u00e8res Nations, incluant les Anishnabe de Lac Simon, sont entr\u00e9es en jeu pour les prot\u00e9ger). <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En Ontario, le gouvernement a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onfr.tfo.org\/dans-le-nord-le-caribou-sinvite-dans-la-campagne\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">prolonger, pour au moins deux ans, l\u2019exemption dont b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie l\u2019industrie foresti\u00e8re<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> concernant l\u2019obligation l\u00e9gale de prot\u00e9ger les esp\u00e8ces en danger. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En Colombie-Britannique, le <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.clearwatertimes.com\/news\/wilderness-group-finds-clearcut-logging-in-critical-habitat-of-at-risk-southern-mountain-caribou\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gouvernement a approuv\u00e9 des coupes \u00e0 blanc<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">* dans un habitat pourtant connu comme \u00e9tant critique pour le caribou, tandis que nous apprenions en m\u00eame temps que certaines hardes de caribous montagnards (cousins du caribou bor\u00e9al) \u00e9taient d\u00e9sormais consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ici.radio-canada.ca\/nouvelle\/1094936\/caribous-montagne-selkirk-risque-extinction-harde\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fonctionnellement \u00e9teintes<\/a>. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>La situation est urgente.<\/strong> Aucun des gouvernements provinciaux n\u2019a encore pris de mesures ad\u00e9quates pour prot\u00e9ger le caribou bor\u00e9al de l\u2019extinction. Certaines Premi\u00e8res Nations ont pris le leadership pour essayer de <\/span><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fortnelsonfirstnation.org\/news.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">prot\u00e9ger le caribou<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">* au sein de leurs territoires. Mais la destruction de l\u2019habitat du caribou continue d\u2019un bord \u00e0 l\u2019autre du Canada. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il est temps que le leadership soit pris au niveau national. Un leadership qui jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, comme l\u2019a not\u00e9 la Commissaire F\u00e9d\u00e9rale \u00e0 l\u2019environnement, a <\/span><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oag-bvg.gc.ca\/internet\/Francais\/parl_cesd_201804_03_f_42994.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fait cruellement d\u00e9faut<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rejoignez le mouvement. Dites \u00e0 la Ministre f\u00e9d\u00e9rale de l\u2019Environnement et du Changement Climatique, Catherine McKenna, de prot\u00e9ger le caribou l\u00e0 o\u00f9 les provinces ont \u00e9chou\u00e9. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le mouvement qui appelle au changement grandit.
