La<strong> forma principal de propulsi\u00f3n son las velas<\/strong>, y es un velero de buen rendimiento. Junto con los barcos m\u00e1s grandes, que siguen siendo un elemento esencial de nuestra misi\u00f3n, <strong>reconocemos el valor de operar otros barcos m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os y m\u00e1s flexibles<\/strong> para llegar a lugares y comunidades que son inaccesibles para barcos m\u00e1s grandes, y para realizar diferentes tipos de campa\u00f1as, participaci\u00f3n p\u00fablica y trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n. <\/p>\n\n<p>Llevamos un tiempo valorando la viabilidad de a\u00f1adir un velero de expedici\u00f3n a la flota, ya sea de nueva construcci\u00f3n o de segunda mano, pero en cualquier caso <strong>lo m\u00e1s cerca posible de estar libre de combustibles f\u00f3siles<\/strong>. Estamos dise\u00f1ando una vela mayor m\u00e1s grande para mejorar el rendimiento de navegaci\u00f3n con vientos suaves. Se agregaron turbinas e\u00f3licas y paneles solares a un sistema optimizado de administraci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda.
