En una primera instancia, se crear\u00e1 una Direcci\u00f3n Ejecutiva Colegiada, conformada por Natalia Machain y Martin Prieto. En la segunda etapa, el Board presentar\u00e1 el plan general con foco en el cambio organizacional, cuya ejecuci\u00f3n estar\u00e1 a cargo de Natalia Machain y que concluir\u00e1 con su designaci\u00f3n en el cargo como Directora Ejecutiva el d\u00eda 31 de octubre.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-898 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/static\/planet4-colombia-stateless\/2018\/09\/71f8ea76-nati_cuerpo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/static\/planet4-colombia-stateless\/2018\/09\/71f8ea76-nati_cuerpo.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/static\/planet4-colombia-stateless\/2018\/09\/71f8ea76-nati_cuerpo-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/static\/planet4-colombia-stateless\/2018\/09\/71f8ea76-nati_cuerpo-510x340.jpg 510w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Natalia, abogada, experta en derecho medioambiental, estar\u00e1 co-conduciendo inicialmente la organizaci\u00f3n luego de haber estado a cargo de la Unidad Pol\u00edtica regional desde el a\u00f1o 2015. Adem\u00e1s de tener bajo su \u00f3rbita todas las Campa\u00f1as nacionales y regionales, en esta primera etapa dirigir\u00e1 las pol\u00edticas de Recursos Humanos y Equidad de G\u00e9nero, entre otras \u00e1reas.<\/p>\n<p>El nombramiento se da en el marco de la finalizaci\u00f3n de una investigaci\u00f3n interna realizada por Greenpeace Internacional y auditores externos donde &#8211; luego de una exhaustiva tarea de encuestas y entrevistas en profundidad con los miembros de la ONG-, si bien se detectaron importantes avances en la conciencia de g\u00e9nero y en pol\u00edticas de equidad, se recomend\u00f3 acelerar los cambios previstos tendientes a la mejora en el clima laboral.<\/p>\n<p>Dicha investigaci\u00f3n interna, que concluy\u00f3 con la presentaci\u00f3n de los resultados, se vio motivada por la entrega de una carta firmada por ex miembros de la organizaci\u00f3n en el mes de abril de 2018, la cual fue recibida en forma directa por el Compliance Officer de Greenpeace Internacional.<\/p>\n<p>Las recomendaciones de la investigaci\u00f3n puntualizan las \u00e1reas de mejora de la organizaci\u00f3n y sugieren la necesidad de presentar un plan de implementaci\u00f3n en el corto plazo. Por su parte Martin Prieto retorna a sus funciones para continuar con los procesos de cambios ya iniciados y llevar adelante un proceso de transici\u00f3n, luego de la licencia solicitada oportunamente para no interferir con la investigaci\u00f3n interna mencionada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLa agenda de igualdad de g\u00e9nero en las organizaciones se debe un debate para afianzar y solucionar: mujeres en la fuerza laboral; lograr el mismo sueldo por el mismo trabajo; mujeres en posiciones gerenciales o directivas; la compatibilidad entre la carrera y la familia; las licencias por maternidad, y el cierre de la brecha digital de g\u00e9nero, entre otros temas\u201d afirm\u00f3 Machain, la actual co- directora ejecutiva de la organizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primeros cambios estructurales<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En l\u00ednea con el proceso de mejoras e igualdad de oportunidades que anunci\u00f3 la organizaci\u00f3n, el Board local decidi\u00f3 que la Direcci\u00f3n Pol\u00edtica sea ocupada por una mujer, con el objetivo de equilibrar la participaci\u00f3n de g\u00e9nero en cargos directivos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sobre Natalia Machain<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Machain es abogada, egresada de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA); tiene un diploma en Antropolog\u00eda Social y Pol\u00edtica (Escuela Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales &#8211; FLACSO, y especializaciones en Econom\u00eda Ambiental y Gesti\u00f3n Ambiental, Universidad Cat\u00f3lica Argentina (UCA) \/ Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Buenos Aires (ITBA). Con una larga carrera abogando por el medio ambiente, Machain ha trabajado para organizaciones no gubernamentales e instituciones que protegen la naturaleza en Argentina y en Am\u00e9rica Latina..<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Greenpeace announced a process of change in the Executive Direction oriented towards gender equity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Board of Greenpeace Andino (GPA) established changes at the top of the organization that will be implemented in two stages: first, with a joint Executive Direction formed by Natalia Machain and Martin Prieto, who will carry on the succession process; during the second stage, which will begin\u00a0in 30 days, the local Board will present the general plan focusing on an organizational change which will conclude with the appointment of Natalia Machain as GPA\u2019s Executive Director on October 31st.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>August 24<sup>th<\/sup>.- On the date hereof, Greenpeace Andino (Argentina, Chile and Colombia) informed the decision of moving forward with the process of changes that were being implemented and which shall continue in two stages. First, there will be a joint Executive Direction, formed by Natalia Machain and Martin Prieto. Then, during the second stage, the Board will present the general plan focusing on an organizational change, which will be executed by Natalia Machain and that will conclude with the appointment of Natalia as Executive Director.<\/p>\n<p>Natalia, lawyer, expert in environmental laws, will be co-leading the organization after being in charge of the Regional Political Unit since 2015. Apart from overseeing all the national and regional campaigns, during this first stage, she will direct the policies of Human Resources and Gender Equity, among other areas.<\/p>\n<p>The appointment is given within the framework of the end of an internal investigation carried out by Greenpeace International and external auditors which, after a thorough task of surveys and in-depth interviews with the NGO\u2019s members, although it detected important improvements insofar as gender awareness and equity policies, recommended to speed up the intended changes prone to improve the work environment.<\/p>\n<p>Such internal investigation, which concluded with the presentation of the results, was motivated by a letter signed by former members of the organization in April 2018, which was received directly by Greenpeace International\u2019s Compliance Officer.<\/p>\n<p>The recommendations arising from the investigation focus on the areas that need to be improved in the organization and suggest the need to prepare an implementation plan in the short term. On the other hand, Martin Prieto returned to his position in order to continue with the processes of change already in motion and so as to carry on the transition process, after the leave of absence that was requested in a timely manner so as not to interfere with the aforementioned internal investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe agenda of gender equity in the organizations deserves a debate to consolidate and resolve: women in the workforce; same salary for same job; women in management positions; compatibility between the career and the family; maternity leave, and the closure of the digital gender gap, among other issues\u201d, claimed Machain, the current executive co-director of the organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>First structural changes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In line with the process of improvements and equal opportunities that was announced by the organization, the local Board decided that the Political Direction shall be taken over by a woman, with the objective of balancing gender participation in management positions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Natalia Machain<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Machain is a lawyer, graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA); she has a diploma in Social and Political Anthropology (Latin American School of Social Sciences\u00a0 &#8211; FLACSO, and specializations in Environmental Economy and Environmental Management, Universidad Cat\u00f3lica Argentina (UCA) \/ Buenos Aires Institute of Technology\u00a0 (ITBA).
