COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER<\/h2>\n\n

The communications officer is a skilled writer and creative communicator who is inspired and committed to engaging people and organisations into a Greenpeace\u2019s campaign. A broad set of skills is required for this contract with a focus on compelling, engaging writing across a broad range of media, innovative strategy development and modern design.<\/p>\n\n

Major functions \/ responsibilities <\/h2>\n\n
  • Develop and help implement a communication strategy for the campaign, including key influencer strategy<\/li>
  • Produce relevant website content, manage external content<\/li>
  • Draft press releases, media briefings and Q&As, and effectively manage output<\/li>
  • Write compelling, creative content for campaign materials<\/li>
  • Draft social media content, oversee and quick react to comments on all channels (FB, IG, YT, TW)<\/li>
  • Identify and champion innovative, creative and new communications opportunities for the campaign<\/li>
  • Ensure the content reflects the brand, values and tone of the organisation, is aligned with communication strategies and reaches the target audiences.<\/li>
  • Act as primary point of contact for media requests regarding the campaign<\/li>
  • Proactively develop relationships with external communication specialists, with an emphasis on the media<\/li>
  • Cooperate with external partners (eg. agencies, celebrities, artists) <\/li>
  • Organize and moderate press conferences and other media events <\/li>
  • Media database management and press-cut mapping and development<\/li>
  • Gather and analyze social media data, and tailor strategy and tactics based on this analysis, in cooperation with Digital Coordinator <\/li>
  • Develop and manage supporter communication for the campaign<\/li>
  • Oversee the production and distribution of video and photo content. Provide clear briefs to and manage photographers, videographers, other contractors and volunteers as required<\/li>
  • Public speaker function as required<\/li><\/ul>\n\n

    Competency profile<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n
    • Public relations expertise, knowledge of media landscape, and understanding of media advocacy needs <\/li>
    • Croatian and English language proficiency<\/li>
    • Basic knowledge of the NGO sector <\/li>
    • Ability to assess risk and potential implications <\/li>
    • Time management skills and ability to work under pressure<\/li>
    • Experience in environmental organisations and\/or civil society is an asset <\/li>
    • Graphic design and project management experience are assets<\/li>
    • Professional and cooperative<\/li>
    • Motivated, innovative and solution oriented<\/li>
    • Discrete and confidential <\/li>
    • Trusts, values and respects others <\/li>
    • Willing to share skills and knowledge<\/li>
    • Identifies with Greenpeace goals, and is supportive of Greenpeace values <\/li>
    • Occasional after-hours work may be required<\/li><\/ul>\n\n
