Greenpeace has filed a complaint with the Danish Business Authority, claiming that Arla\u2019s reported climate reductions are misleading and appear significantly greater than they actually are.<\/p>\n\n
Greenpeace alleges that Arla\u2019s reported climate figures, presented in annual reports, are not accurate. The dairy company has continuously changed its methods for calculating CO\u2082 emissions without updating the original baseline from 2015.<\/p>\n\n
This makes the company\u2019s reductions appear larger than they are, thereby concealing the fact that, according to Greenpeace, Arla is not genuinely on track to meet its climate targets to the extent it claims.<\/p>\n\n
From 2015 to 2016, a notable change occurred when Arla altered its methodology, resulting in nearly half of the reported reductions being halved. These reductions are presented in Arla\u2019s annual reports.<\/p>\n\n
In the complaint, Greenpeace points out that Arla\u2019s misleading information about its climate efforts conflicts with the Danish Financial Statements Act.<\/p>\n\n
The organization is therefore asking the Danish Business Authority to require Arla to correct its climate data and to consider imposing fines on the company, its management, and the auditors behind the annual report.<\/p>\n\n
