When the only way to breathe safe air outdoors is to be inside a vehicle, then we know that something is seriously wrong. Cities are for citizens, not vehicles!<\/strong> To change things for the better, we first need to understand the preferences, demands and opinions on public transportation, from people across the country.<\/td><\/tr>
You grabbed the opportunity to speak up<\/strong> and share your ideas on how to improve bus transport facilities in your city. Here\u2019s what we heard from regular and potential bus users.<\/td><\/tr>
We consolidated 1269 responses and here\u2019s what we found:<\/strong>Only 6% of all respondents are bus users!20% of commuters prefer a scooter\/bike, 19% prefer a car and 16% prefer the metro61% use sustainable transport (metro, bus and private transport such as cycle, electric vehicle and walking)57% of the participants travel more than 11kms<\/td><\/tr>
We asked how to improve the public bus services and here\u2019s what we heard:<\/strong>24% of participants voted for better \u2018end to end\u2019 or source to destination connectivity24% say the number of buses should be increased55% of the participants chose to ensure safety and security41% chose better lighting at bus stops30% chose better bus shelters<\/td><\/tr>
Time and again, we\u2019ve heard about the dangers of air pollution. We\u2019re tired of worrying about how the air is affecting our health. It\u2019s time for action. It\u2019s time for a greener and healthier city.<\/strong> You are the spark that can transform your city into a healthy and safe space.<\/td><\/tr>
