India enjoys more than 300 sunny days (approximately 2,300\u20133,200 hours of sunshine) in a year. It&#8217;s time for us to capitalize on the resource and solarise our rooftops.\r\nOur government has already taken note. While 60 GW has been earmarked for large-scale solar projects, 40 GW has been set aside for decentralised solar power, which includes installing rooftop solar panels, solar powered microgrids, solar irrigation pumps etc. Almost every state has a solar policy in place. This would need more incentives and awareness programmes from the government.
