In 2002, a separate entity called the Greenpeace India Society (GPIS) was created and registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act.\r\n\r\nBoth Greenpeace Trust and Society have similar objectives of protecting India\u2019s natural environment through campaigns. Greenpeace India thrives to ensure high level of governance, transparency and accountability through financial, environmental and statutory credibility.
