The Death and Degree report reveals a clear connection between extreme heat and mortality in the city, highlighting how prolonged exposure to rising temperatures, measured through the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI), correlates with spikes in unrecognised deaths.<\/p>\n\n<p>The findings expose how climate change is already costing lives, especially among vulnerable groups such as the elderly, outdoor workers, and people with existing health conditions.
