As India faced record-breaking heat, rising pollution, and widening inequalities, our campaigns worked to create space for justice, community, and care. In Delhi, volunteers and women cyclists led bold actions demanding cleaner air and safer mobility, urging the government to revise outdated air quality standards. In Karnataka, sustained advocacy through the Unjam Bengaluru campaign turned into policy when the government introduced free public bus transport for women—a landmark step toward equity in urban mobility.

Across Jharkhand, Bihar, and Delhi, our Food for Future campaign united farmers, consumers, and youth to build climate-resilient food systems rooted in local produce and indigenous grains. The Growing Together farm visits and our call to include millets in school meals showed how food choices are deeply tied to both climate and justice. When Delhi’s Heat Action Plan finally came into effect after years of campaigning, it marked another step toward community-led adaptation and resilience.

These victories reminded us that environmental action is deeply human work—rooted in care, courage, and solidarity. In a year marked by global instability and a worsening climate crisis, our work stood as proof that hope thrives where people act together, and that every collective step brings us closer to a just and sustainable future.

Read Here

The year 2023 tested the strength of our movements and reaffirmed the power of collective action.
