Every quarter leaves behind evidence. Someone has to gather it. Someone has to preserve it. Someone has to make sure it isn’t forgotten.<\/p>\n\n

Sometimes, it takes the form of reports and research. But, what if it also lives in a worker’s testimony, a mural painted on Labour Day, a rap song, a public installation, or a city choosing to laugh at the absurdities it has quietly learned to live with?<\/p>\n\n

Witness 2.26 captures a quarter where communities faced the climate crisis and document it as evidence. Bengaluru Rising transformed April Fool’s Day into a city-wide conversation about broken urban planning, drawing national attention to the everyday frustrations people have quietly learned to accept. In Delhi, residents, workers, artists, researchers, and allies built a growing body of evidence on extreme heat through public murals, neighbourhood heat mapping, community diaries, exhibitions, music, and the Standing the Heat<\/em> report. Together, these efforts helped shift the conversation from temperatures and weather forecasts to the lived realities of climate change.<\/p>\n\n

This edition also follows the wider stories shaping our work, from landmark court judgments on walkability and urban forests to growing momentum for clean air, climate accountability, and a just transition. It is a record of a quarter that asked a simple question: what happens when communities begin building the evidence needed to shape the future they deserve?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
