In an era of rapid urbanization and population growth, solid waste management is a critical piece for sustainable, healthy, inclusive for communities living in cities. However, it is often put on the back burner when it comes to urban development. If no action is taken, we\u2019ll push ourselves and our children to live in a world with more waste and overwhelming pollution. Lives, livelihoods, and the environment would pay an even higher price than they are already.<\/p>\n

The average person generates over 4 pounds of trash every day i.e., 1.81 Kg in a day and about 2.01 billion tonnes of solid waste per year. Sustainable waste management is everyone\u2019s responsibility. The time for action is now.<\/p>\n

Nukkad natak on waste management<\/p><\/div>\n

We conducted an awareness program at Gurugram. Designed a Nukkad Natak on waste management portraying five different situations depicting the reality of our Modern India. We want clean roads and locality but we refuse to do our part, we litter anywhere and everywhere. But we want our homes to be clean, no matter how much garbage we throw outside untreated and unseparated. We were fortunate enough to be able to create environment awareness among the employees of the Mahindra Logistics Company. They pledged to change the culture and move forward as an environment-friendly organization and promised to join hands with the responsible citizens of the country as well to make a change.<\/p>\n

Remember, our landfills are fast filling with the waste humans are producing. Garbage Mountain at Gazipur is an appropriate example of our unconscious actions costing us the space of more than 40 football grounds. It is time we step up to care for our environment as we envision a waste-free future; a world where waste becomes resources and sustainable systems bringing value to businesses, institutions, and communities, enhancing environment and quality of life.<\/p>\n
