Berdasarkan survei komprehensif yang dirilis Greenpeace International, perusahaan produsen barang kebutuhan sehari-hari (fast moving consumer goods atau FMCG) adalah kekuatan dominan di balik model ekonomi sekali pakai yang mendorong krisis sampah plastik. Itu perlu diubah.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cModel bisnis mereka saat ini didasarkan pada asumsi bahwa pada akhirnya semua kemasan plastik dapat, dan akan, dikumpulkan dan didaur ulang menjadi kemasan atau produk baru.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Empat perusahaan yang melaporkan penjualan tertinggi produk dengan plastik sekali pakai (Coca Cola, PepsiCo, Nestl\u00e9, dan Danone) juga merupakan empat merek teratas yang diidentifikasi dalam laporan audit merek Break Free From Plastic yang dirilis baru-baru ini, yang diawali dengan 239 kegiatan bersih-bersih di 42 negara.<\/p>\n<p>Laporan, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/international\/publication\/19007\/a-crisis-of-convenience-the-corporations-behind-the-plastics-pollution-pandemic\">A Crisis of Convenience: The corporations behind the plastics pollution pandemic<\/a>,\u201d berfokus pada sebelas perusahaan FMCG terbesar: Coca-Cola Company, Colgate-Palmolive, Danone, Johnson &amp; Johnson, Kraft Heinz, Mars, Nestl\u00e9, Mondelez, PepsiCo, Procter &amp; Gamble dan Unilever.<\/p>\n<p>Temuan-temuan utama:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"normal\">Kemasan sekali pakai adalah sistem pengiriman utama yang digunakan oleh semua perusahaan FMCG, tanpa tanda-tanda perubahan.<\/li>\n<li class=\"normal\">Tidak satupun dari perusahaan FMCG yang disurvei memiliki strategi komprehensif yang mencakup komitmen untuk beralih dari plastik sekali pakai.<\/li>\n<li class=\"normal\">Sebagian besar perusahaan FMCG terus meningkatkan jumlah kemasan plastik sekali pakai dan limbah yang mereka hasilkan.<\/li>\n<li class=\"normal\">Sebagian besar perusahaan FMCG hanya mengetahui, atau mengungkapkan, sedikit saja tentang jumlah kemasan mereka yang didaur ulang, dan bahkan lebih sedikit lagi tentang tujuan limbah plastik mereka setelah dikonsumsi.<\/li>\n<li class=\"normal\">Meskipun mempunyai jejak plastik yang signifikan, solusi utama yang dieksplorasi oleh bisnis yaitu terkait dengan komposisi kemasan yang dapat didaur ulang dan proses daur ulang itu sendiri, bukannya mengurangi, atau menciptakan sistem pengiriman baru.<\/li>\n<li class=\"normal\">Kurangnya transparansi di sektor ini dan hanya sedikit perusahaan FMCG yang bersedia untuk mengungkapkan data penting tentang penggunaan plastik mereka.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Survei ini bertujuan untuk menentukan sejauh mana komitmen, tindakan, dan kinerja FMCG menangani dampak lingkungan dan sosial dari kemasan dan limbah plastik mereka.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSektor ini harus mengubah model bisnisnya dan bersiap untuk dunia di mana produk dan kemasan sekali pakai tidak lagi dapat diterima,\u201d ujar Ashov.<\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\">Sektor FMCG merupakan salah satu industri terbesar di dunia. Sebagian besar perusahaan FMCG tumbuh sebanyak 1-6% setiap tahun<sup>[1]<\/sup>.
