Citizen activists are cleaning up local riverbanks, parks, and beaches and using these events to identify the companies that are polluting their hometowns.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Have you heard about the citizen science project that\u2019s exposing the worst plastic polluters?<\/strong> The work of regular people is making real change, and outlets like Forbes<\/a>, the Philippine Daily Inquirer<\/a>, Vice<\/a> and many others are taking notice!<\/p>\n

Citizen activists are cleaning up their local riverbanks, parks, and beaches, but they\u2019re not stopping there. They\u2019re using these events to identify the companies that are polluting their hometowns to begin with. <\/p>\n\n

In 2018 and 2019, thousands of people across the world joined together to perform hundreds of brand audits and call out the world\u2019s top polluters, resulting in the 2018<\/a> and 2019<\/a> BRANDED reports. By categorising and counting branded plastic packaging during cleanup events, they helped identify the corporations most responsible for plastic pollution.<\/p>\n
