Chornobyl<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the early morning of 26 April 1986, a major nuclear accident occurred in reactor number 4 at the Chornobyl nuclear power station in Ukraine. The reactor\u2019s explosion and subsequent burning went down in history as the world\u2019s worst civilian nuclear accident to date. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The consequences were felt across Europe \u2013 and persist even today.
