These companies represent 15% of all global clothing production. You can read more about their progress in the new report,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/international\/publication\/17612\/destination-zero\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Destination Zero &#8211; Seven Years of Detoxing the Clothing Industry<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<lite-youtube style=\"background-image: url('https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/2anxU9z4Rac\/hqdefault.jpg');\" videoid=\"2anxU9z4Rac\" params=\"rel=0\"><\/lite-youtube>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Market leaders such as Zara, adidas, and Tesco have taken responsibility for the way they produce clothes. They are testing the wastewater from their factories and publishing the results, replacing toxic chemicals with better alternatives and building relationships with their workers in countries like China, Mexico, and Indonesia. This has not only made our waterways cleaner, but it&#8217;s improved the lives of people who work at or live close to those factories. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>You started a transparency revolution in the fashion sector. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NGOs like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fashionrevolution.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fashion Revolution<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/changingmarkets.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Changing Markets<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are demanding better factory working conditions and more sustainable materials, creating a sea of change for the fashion industry that can&#8217;t be undone. It\u00a0 shows how the seemingly impossible can be achieved when people come together. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>But there is still more to do. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fast fashion continues to grow, as online shopping becomes the norm. Companies are producing cheaper and cheaper clothes every year. As our climate continues to warm, mountains of waste are growing and microplastic fibre pollution from synthetic clothing is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/international\/story\/6956\/what-are-microfibers-and-why-are-our-clothes-polluting-the-oceans\/\">spreading to our oceans<\/a>. This needs to stop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We need you to keep pushing for a better future.
