M<\/span>ore than 3 million of you have joined us in urging companies to stop polluting our planet with throwaway plastic.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> And together with over 1,400 allies in the global <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakfreefromplastic.org\/\">Break Free From Plastic<\/a> movement,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">we conducted 239 cleanups in 42 countries to identify <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/international\/story\/18876\/these-10-companies-are-flooding-the-planet-with-throwaway-plastic\/\">the biggest corporate polluters<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In October, Greenpeace International released the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/international\/publication\/19007\/a-crisis-of-convenience-the-corporations-behind-the-plastics-pollution-pandemic\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crisis of Convenience report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">based on a survey to 11 of the biggest fast-moving consumer goods companies globally. Despite some of these companies publicly signing a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">voluntary, non-binding <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/international\/press-release\/19089\/coca-cola-nestle-danone-mars-pepsi-and-unilever-sign-global-plastics-pledge-but-still-havent-prioritized-reduction\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">commitment<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to tackle the crisis, <\/span>the report revealed that none of the companies surveyed currently have comprehensive plans to move away from single-use packaging; on the contrary, most of them have plans to <em>increase<\/em> the overall amount of plastic packaging they produce.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So now we are deploying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/international\/explore\/ships\/\">the Greenpeace ships<\/a>; the Rainbow Warrior and the Beluga, to tell the global story of where plastic pollution really starts and ends. We are rallying supporters worldwide to help hold these companies accountable and to make sure they follow up on their words with bold action.
