Simply put, these companies created a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hashtag\/plasticmonster?source=feed_text&amp;epa=HASHTAG\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">#PlasticMonster<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s why we\u2019re going to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/international\/story\/20554\/our-ships-are-setting-sail-to-tackle-the-global-plastic-pollution-crisis\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ship this plastic monster back<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to where it was created. Here Greenpeace organizes Het Plastival: the festival for a world without single use plastic.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><b>Nestl\u00e9 and Unilever were named as the top plastic polluters<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the Philippines, based on a series of waste audits done there by the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.no-burn.org\/waba2019\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This past weekend, Greenpeace activists and volunteers paid a visit to Unilever. In the past five years, the company\u2019s use of plastic in its packaging portfolio has increased by 5%. A whopping 98% of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nestl\u00e9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s products are sold in single-use packaging, and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nestl\u00e9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is third in the list of top plastic polluters globally, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakfreefromplastic.org\/globalbrandauditreport2018\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">global brand audits<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of plastic pollution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We need <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nestl\u00e9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to walk the talk: start phasing out single-use plastics across its supply chain and, crucially, invest in new delivery systems of refill and reuse. Simply shifting the problem from one throwaway material to another is not a solution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nestl\u00e9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, it\u2019s time to take responsibility for the plastic monster you\u2019ve created. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/act.greenpeace.org\/page\/40248\/action\/1\"><b>It\u2019s time to go beyond vague
