Amsterdam, Netherlands \u2013 In response to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling on Gaza today, Greenpeace said:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n
\u201cGreenpeace is disappointed that the ICJ did not order an immediate ceasefire in Gaza today. We repeat our call for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire – massive and urgent humanitarian aid must be delivered unimpeded to the people of Gaza now – and for the release of all hostages and all illegally detained people.<\/p>\n\n
\u201cAs an organisation committed to promoting peace and the upholding of the rights and welfare of all people, we demand respect for international law – as outlined in the ICJ ruling even though it stopped short of ending the violence. An immediate and comprehensive ceasefire is the only viable option to achieve this.<\/p>\n\n
\u201cBeyond the urgent need to end the civilian suffering and ecological devastation, all parties must resume peaceful negotiations towards a lasting peace built on safety, justice and equal rights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
