This year, the French multinational oil and gas giant TotalEnergies celebrates 100 years<\/a> in operation. As we mark the centenary, it\u2019s time to reckon with the true cost of its legacy. The company\u2019s relentless pursuit of profit has come at the expense of Africa\u2019s most vulnerable communities and irreplaceable ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n

The company has a foothold in nearly 130 countries and operations that encompass the entire spectrum of the fossil energy sector, from exploration to production, refining to distribution. Yet, it\u2019s in Africa where TotalEnergies\u2019 actions have left some of the deepest scars.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n
