He\u2019s a highly-respected filmmaker, a journalist and a TV presenter. He can even add songwriter and part-time rapper to his impressive credentials. Originally from Sudan, he\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menaspeakers.com\/speaker\/Amjad_AlNour\/\">at the forefront of media and cultural discourse in the Middle East and beyond<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/static\/planet4-international-stateless\/2024\/11\/eccb5255-e6b1-462c-b242-6db354444726-1024x341.jpg\" title=\"Amjad Al-Nour during the filming of the Ahlamouna music video<div class=\"credit icon-left\"> \u00a9 Domino \/ Greenpeace<\/div>&#8221; alt=&#8221;Amjad Al-Nour during the filming of the Ahlamouna music video<div class=\"credit icon-left\"> \u00a9 Domino \/ Greenpeace<\/div>&#8221; class=&#8221;wp-image-70995&#8243;\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Amjad Al-Nour during the filming of the Ahlamouna music video<div class=\"credit icon-left\"> \u00a9 Domino \/ Greenpeace<\/div><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p>Al-Nour\u2019s creative drive is evident in his every venture and his work often touches on human and social concerns as seen in his satirical videos, many of which have gone viral. \u201cI\u2019m always thinking about my next idea, how I\u2019m going to top whatever I did previously,\u201d he remarks in an interview with Greenpeace Middle East and North Africa (MENA).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>In 2023, Greenpeace MENA had collaborated with Al-Nour for #COP28 in Dubai to produce the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=G130f3NNFSU\">Polluter Pays music video<\/a> highlighting the destructive impact of international oil and gas companies on countries in the Majority World.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ahlamouna (Our Dreams): young voices rise for a better tomorrow<\/h3>\n\n<p>In his latest collaboration with Greenpeace MENA, Al-Nour fulfilled another dream by working with children in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RKXvfeg6-CQ\">Ahlamouna music video<\/a>, bringing his latest vision to life in an unusual way. Before the shoot, he and his team opened up casting auditions in various schools in Istanbul, Turkey. They sing how their dreams are not for sale and long for a world that is fair, safe, and more sustainable. Al-Nour believes kids should be heard more often, and adults should take their concerns seriously. \u201cChildren are the future, and whatever we do as adults will affect their lives,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Calls for a global Wellbeing Economy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>Relevant to the times, the Ahlamouna music video is a message to all the grownups to heed the call of the young to protect and safeguard their hopes, dreams and future. Across the region and in the Majority World, nations are struggling with multiple crises, including devastating conflicts and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpeace.org\/mena\/en\/june-2024-breaks-heat-records\/?_gl=1*15lapq4*_up*MQ..*_ga*MTU4NTQ4MjUxMS4xNzI5NTk2Mzk4*_ga_94MRTN8HG4*MTcyOTU5NjM5OC4xLjAuMTcyOTU5NjM5OC4wLjAuNDA1NTU3NDA1\">the increasing toll of the climate crisis<\/a>.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/news\/press-release\/2024\/10\/11\/poorest-economies-face-toughest-conditions-in-two-decades\">The world\u2019s 26 poorest countries <\/a>are facing the highest levels of debts since 2006, and societies are trapped in extractivist and neo-colonial economic models that are fueling an ongoing debt crisis.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"@Amjad-Alnour  x \u063a\u0631\u064a\u0646\u0628\u064a\u0633 : \u0623\u062d\u0644\u0627\u0645\u0646\u0627 \u0644\u064a\u0633\u062a \u0644\u0644\u0628\u064a\u0639 \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0627\u0621\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RKXvfeg6-CQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p>\u201cChildren across the MENA region are already bearing the brunt of a global climate crisis they did not cause. The Majority World faces further injustice as wealthy polluting nations continue to uphold unfair global financial rules that do not work in the people\u2019s favour\u201d, says Hanen Keskes, Campaigns Lead for Greenpeace MENA.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cTo redress the inequities and ensure a sustainable future for our children, we need an economy that shifts beyond GDP and puts the wellbeing of people and planet at its centre.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>For the sake of our children and their future, it&#8217;s time to change this outdated, unfair and neo-colonial economic system that is destroying the world.
