Together with many helpers, Greenpeace activists will draw a circle with a red thread in a radius of 5 kilometres around the G\u00f6sgen nuclear power plant on Saturday, 7 March 2026. In doing so, they will illustrate the drastic loss of living, residential and working space following a nuclear accident \u2013 knowing full well that a reactor disaster could affect an even larger area. In the afternoon, a ceremony will be held at Munzingerplatz in Olten to commemorate a future nuclear disaster. A red kingfisher will be unveiled as a memorial. The colourful bird, native to the Swiss Plateau, symbolises the vulnerable nature that would also suffer in the event of a nuclear accident.
