Kiew, Ukraine<\/em>, 20. Juli 2022 – Gemeinsam mit internationalen Expert:innen hat Greenpeace Deutschland in verlassenen russischen Milit\u00e4rstandorten, Strahlungswerte gemessen, die mindestens dreimal so hoch sind wie die Sch\u00e4tzungen der Internationalen Atomenergiebeh\u00f6rde (IAEO). Noch im April 2022 stellte die IAEO zwar erh\u00f6hte Strahlungswerte fest, s<\/strong>tufte diese jedoch als ungef\u00e4hrlich f\u00fcr die Umwelt oder die \u00f6ffentliche Sicherheit ein. Greenpeace ist besorgt \u00fcber die Beeintr\u00e4chtigung der IAEO in Ihrer Rolle in Bezug auf die nukleare Sicherheit in der Ukraine durch ihre Verbindungen zu Russlands staatlicher Atombeh\u00f6rde ROSATOM, nicht zuletzt auch auf Grund des derzeitigen stellvertretenden IAEO-Direktors Mikhail Chudakov, einem langj\u00e4hrigen ROSATOM-Beamten. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Das Forschungsprojekt wurde mit Genehmigung der ukrainischen Regierung und in Zusammenarbeit mit Wissenschaftler:innen der State Agency of Ukraine on the Exclusion Zone Management (SAUEZM) innerhalb einer 30km langen hochgradig kontaminierten Sperrzone durchgef\u00fchrt. Greenpeace ver\u00f6ffentlichte die Ergebnisse seiner Untersuchung auf einer Pressekonferenz in Kiew, an der auch Jewhen Kramarenko, Leiter der SAUEZM, sein Stellvertreter Maksym Schewtschuk sowie Serhiy Kireev, Generaldirektor des staatlichen Fachunternehmens “EcoCenter” in Tschernobyl, teilnahmen. [1]<\/p>\n\n

In Zusammenarbeit mit ukrainischen Wissenschaftler:innen dokumentierte Greenpeace au\u00dferdem die Besch\u00e4digung wichtiger Labors, Datenbanken und Strahlungs\u00fcberwachungssystemen. Zu diesen einzigartigen Einrichtungen, die mit Hilfe internationaler Wissenschaftler:innen entwickelt wurden, geh\u00f6rten auch Ger\u00e4te zur Untersuchung der Auswirkungen von Strahlung auf die Gesundheit und die Umwelt. <\/p>\n\n

“Es ist von essentieller Bedeutung f\u00fcr unsere Erde die komplexen Auswirkungen der Strahlung in Tschernobyl zu verstehen, was bedeutet, wir sind auf Forschungen und die Zusammenarbeit mit internationalen Wissenschaftlern angewiesen. All das wird durch den Krieg in der Ukraine gef\u00e4hrdet<\/em>“, sagte Shaun Burnie, leitender Atomexperte bei Greenpeace Deutschland. “Wissenschaftler:innen und Mitarbeiter:innen, die wichtige Strahlenschutzma\u00dfnahmen durchf\u00fchren, werden nun von einer unbekannten Anzahl russischer Landminen und Sprengstoffen gef\u00e4hrdet. Dies ist eine weitere schreckliche Hinterlassenschaft des illegalen russischen Krieges und ein Verbrechen gegen die Umwelt und die gesamte Wissenschaft. Die IAEO scheint nicht bereit zu sein, das Ausma\u00df der Strahlengefahr in Tschernobyl und die Auswirkungen der russischen Besetzung zu erkl\u00e4ren.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n

Entscheidend f\u00fcr die Untersuchung von Greenpeace war ein von der britischen Firma McKenzie Intelligence Services (MIS) in Auftrag gegebener Satellitenanalysebericht, der die Standorte der russischen Milit\u00e4roperationen im Februar und M\u00e4rz 2022 zeigte. [2]<\/p>\n\n

In einem russischen Lager bei Stantzaya Yanov wurden Werte von 0,18 \u00b5Sv\/h (microSievert pro Stunde) bis hin zu 2,5\u00b5Sv\/h in 10 cm H\u00f6he gemessen. Der h\u00f6chste Wert ist somit mehr als dreimal so hoch wie der von der IAEO gesch\u00e4tzte. Bei weiteren Proben, die in einem mobilen Labor vor Ort gemessen wurden, zeigte sich ein deutlicher Kontrast in den Cs-137-Konzentrationen, die von 45000 Bq\/kg bis unter 500 Bq\/kg reichten. Durch die St\u00f6rung der Erdschichten, ausgel\u00f6st von der russischen Armee, kann sowohl gering kontaminierter Boden aus tieferen Schichten als auch h\u00f6her kontaminierter Boden aus anderen Schichten an die Oberfl\u00e4che gelangen. Dies kann zu einer st\u00e4rkeren Ausbreitung von Radionukliden in die Umwelt f\u00fchren.
“In den verlassenen russischen Gr\u00e4ben wurden Gammastrahlungswerte gemessen, die als schwach radioaktiver Abfall einzustufen sind. Es ist eindeutig, dass das russische Milit\u00e4r in einer hochradioaktiven Umgebung operierte, jedoch vermag die IAEO nicht dies mitzuteilen. Unsere Untersuchung hat gezeigt, dass die Strahlungswerte in der ukrainischen Sperrzone keineswegs normal sind, auch wenn die Atomenergiebeh\u00f6rde uns das glauben machen will<\/em>“, sagte Jan Vande Putte, leitender Strahlungsexperte bei Greenpeace Belgien.<\/p>\n\n
