[1] Greenpeace h\u00e4lt die Aussagen von IKEA f\u00fcr bedauernswert und irref\u00fchrend und hofft nach wie vor, dass IKEA seine Lieferketten von der Zerst\u00f6rung alter W\u00e4lder s\u00e4ubert und sich f\u00fcr einen besseren Waldschutz einsetzt.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Martina Holbach, Campaignerin bei Greenpeace Luxemburg, sagte: &#8220;<em>Die von Greenpeace vorgelegten Beweise, wonach die Hersteller von einigen der beliebtesten IKEA-Produkte mit der Zerst\u00f6rung alter W\u00e4lder in Rum\u00e4nien in Verbindung stehen, sind stichhaltig. Die Praktiken von IKEA sind zwar nicht illegal, aber das bedeutet nicht, dass sie nachhaltig sind, wie IKEA es&nbsp; darstellen m\u00f6chte.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n<p>Alle von Greenpeace besuchten Abholzungsstandorte, die mit den IKEA-Herstellern in Verbindung stehen, wurden nicht nur aufgrund ihres durchschnittlichen Alters, das in den \u00f6ffentlich zug\u00e4nglichen Waldbewirtschaftungspl\u00e4nen angegeben ist, sondern auch wegen ihrer einzigartigen und vielf\u00e4ltigen \u00f6kologischen Zusammensetzung als Prim\u00e4rw\u00e4lder eingestuft. Alle untersuchten Waldgebiete wiesen eindeutige Merkmale von Prim\u00e4rw\u00e4ldern auf, darunter strukturelle Komplexit\u00e4t und das Vorhandensein von B\u00e4umen unterschiedlicher Gr\u00f6\u00dfen, Formen und Arten sowie das Vorkommen von B\u00e4umen, die als Lebensraum dienen und liegendes und stehendes Totholz. Diese W\u00e4lder haben die F\u00e4higkeit, zahlreiche \u00f6kologische Versorgungsleistungen zu erbringen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>Wie der j\u00fcngste Bericht von Greenpeace CEE zeigt, erkennt das FSC-Zertifizierungssystem nicht immer den wahren Wert der biologischen Vielfalt von Urw\u00e4ldern an. Dies wiederum erm\u00f6glicht die industrielle Forstwirtschaft und Abholzung im Rahmen der FSC-Zertifizierung selbst in W\u00e4ldern, die streng gesch\u00fctzt sein sollten.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Sich hinter einem Zertifizierungsprogramm zu verstecken, das eindeutig nicht in der Lage ist, alte W\u00e4lder zu sch\u00fctzen, ist keine L\u00f6sung. Wir fordern IKEA auf, nicht nur seine Lieferketten zu s\u00e4ubern, sondern auch \u00f6ffentlich f\u00fcr eine wirksame Umsetzung der EU-Verpflichtungen zur biologischen Vielfalt einzutreten und die Politik zu ermutigen, daf\u00fcr zu sorgen, dass unsere letzten verbliebenen und artenreichsten W\u00e4lder erhalten bleiben. For the research, Greenpeace teams traced the path of the wood from the forests of Romania to the shelves of IKEA stores using logging permits, satellite images and timber warehouses. Seven furniture manufacturers were found to be sourcing wood from forests worthy of protection. Based on publicly available information, IKEA is the largest customer of the products manufactured by most of these companies. So far, companies and authorities have tried to avoid identifying areas as primary or virgin forests in order to circumvent logging restrictions. As a result, only about 2.4% (1700 km2) of Romania's Carpathian forests are currently protected from deforestation.
