In den letzten Monaten h\u00e4uften sich auf europ\u00e4ischer Ebene die schlechten Nachrichten zum Thema Umweltschutz. <\/p>\n\n

Denn obwohl das EU-Waldschutzgesetz im April 2023 vom europ\u00e4ischen Parlament gestimmt wurde, dr\u00e4ngen seither etliche L\u00e4nder, darunter zwei \u00f6sterreichische Minister,<\/a> auf eine Aufschiebung der Inkraftsetzung des f\u00fcr Menschen- und Umweltrechte wichtigen Gesetzes. <\/p>\n\n

Im November 2023 wurde die Zulassung von Glyphosat aufgrund mangelnden Einvernehmens um weitere 10 Jahre verl\u00e4ngert<\/a>, trotz nachgewiesener Gesundheitsrisiken und gegen den Willen einer Mehrheit der europ\u00e4ischen Bev\u00f6lkerung<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n

Das Gesetz zur Wiederherstellung der Natur wurde, wenn auch teilweise entkr\u00e4ftet (insbesondere hinsichtlich der Bezifferung und Nichtber\u00fccksichtigung von Zielen), vor kurzem im Europ\u00e4ischen Parlament angenommen. Dabei handelt es sich um ein sehr wichtiges Gesetz, um die Zerst\u00f6rung der biologischen Artenvielfalt wieder r\u00fcckg\u00e4ngig zu machen<\/a>. Jedoch muss der Rat der Europ\u00e4ischen Union dem Gesetz noch seine Zustimmung geben, und einige L\u00e4nder, die das Gesetz zuvor unterst\u00fctzt hatten, haben ihre Meinung ge\u00e4ndert<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Schlie\u00dflich wurde die Gemeinsame Agrarpolitik (GAP) in Sachen Umweltschutz innerhalb k\u00fcrzester Zeit und ohne echte demokratische Debatte v\u00f6llig entkr\u00e4ftet. Zahlreiche Ma\u00dfnahmen wie die Kulturfruchtfolge oder die Brachzeit<\/a> sind aus dieser neuen GAP verschwunden. <\/p>\n\n

Um eine dringende Wende zu fordern, wurde der folgende offene Brief von mehr als 100 europ\u00e4ischen Umwelt-, Gesundheits- und Verbraucherschutzorganisationen mitunterzeichnet. Im Vorfeld der bevorstehenden Europawahlen ist es von gr\u00f6\u00dfter Bedeutung, sich daran zu erinnern, wie wichtig die Erhaltung des Lebens und der Kampf gegen den Klimawandel f\u00fcr unsere Gesundheit, unser Wohlergehen und das zuk\u00fcnftiger Generationen sind.<\/p>\n\n

In that way, a lot more wood is exiting the forest in reality than legal permits officially state.
