Heute ist Weltfischtag. Eine Gelegenheit, um zum Schutz und Erhalt der Wasserbewohner aufzurufen. Denn Fische haben weltweit mit zahlreichen Problemen zu k\u00e4mpfen. Klimaerhitzung, Plastik im Meer und \u00dcberfischung machen ihnen schwer zu schaffen. Das UN-Meeresabkommen, das im September in New York erstmals verhandelt wird, k\u00f6nnte ein erster Schritt sein, um das Meer und dessen Bewohner zu sch\u00fctzen.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Weltweit enorme \u00dcberfischung<\/h2>\n

Laut der Weltern\u00e4hrungsorganisation der Vereinten Nationen sind knapp 90 Prozent der kommerziell genutzten Fischbest\u00e4nde ausgereizt, \u00fcberfischt oder zusammengebrochen. Vor allem L\u00e4nder, die keine oder wenig Fischereim\u00f6glichkeiten haben, sto\u00dfen bei der enormen Nachfrage der Verbraucher und Verbraucherinnen an ihre Grenzen. Sie sind beinahe vollst\u00e4ndig von Fischimporten aus dem Ausland abh\u00e4ngig. In \u00d6sterreich markiert der 17. J\u00e4nner den \u201c Tag der Fischabh\u00e4ngigkeit\u201d. Ab diesem Tag ist das Land auf den Import von Meeresfisch angewiesen, um die Binnennachfrage decken zu k\u00f6nnen. Denn in \u00d6sterreich landen j\u00e4hrlich bis zu acht Kilogramm Fisch auf den Tellern.<\/p>\n

Kontraproduktive Zertifizierungssysteme<\/h2>\n

Auch G\u00fctezeichen kann nicht blind vertraut werden. MSC beispielsweise ist kein Garant f\u00fcr nachhaltige Fischerei. Hier werden immer wieder Zertifikate vergeben, obwohl der Fisch aus \u00fcberfischten Best\u00e4nden stammt, Grundschleppnetze genutzt werden und dadurch der Meeresboden zerst\u00f6rt wird. Von nachhaltiger Meeresfischerei kann also nicht die Rede sein. Fische und andere Meerestiere brauchen eine Pause, um sich zu erholen. Es ist deshalb an der Zeit umzudenken und Meeresfisch von der Speisekarte zu streichen. Wer auf Fisch nicht g\u00e4nzlich verzichten m\u00f6chte, kann auf heimische Arten zur\u00fcckgreifen.<\/p>\n

\"\u00a9<\/p>\n

Gefahr durch Plastik<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Das Plastik in den Weltmeeren stellt eine zus\u00e4tzliche Belastung f\u00fcr alle Meeresbewohner dar. Im Mittelmeer sind pro Quadratkilometer bis zu 1,25 Millionen Partikel des Mikroplastiks zu finden. Greenpeace konnte in einem k\u00fcrzlich ver\u00f6ffentlichten Report sogar Mikroplastik in der Antarktis nachweisen.
\nFische halten die Kunststoffpartikel f\u00e4lschlicherweise f\u00fcr Nahrung und erleiden Darmentz\u00fcndungen und Fortpflanzungsst\u00f6rungen, die bei vielen zum Tod f\u00fchren. Eine Studie des Alfred-Wegener-Instituts in Bremerhaven konnte bei mehr als f\u00fcnf Prozent der untersuchten Speisefische aus der Nord- und Ostsee Mikroplastik im Verdauungstrakt nachweisen.<\/p>\n

Zunehmende Klimaerhitzung \u2013 Fischen bleibt keine Zeit sich anzupassen<\/h2>\n

Die zunehmende Klimaerhitzung wirkt sich ebenfalls negativ auf die Fischpopulationen aus. Steh- und Flie\u00dfgew\u00e4sser erw\u00e4rmen sich, wodurch der Sauerstoffgehalt sinkt. F\u00fcr die Fische kommt die Temperaturver\u00e4nderung oft sehr pl\u00f6tzlich und kann daher t\u00f6dlich sein. In Hamburg starben als Folge der j\u00fcngsten Hitzewelle f\u00fcnf Tonnen Fisch, aus dem Rhein wurde eine Tonne toter Fisch geholt.<\/p>\n

Schutzgebiete notwendig<\/h2>\n

Gro\u00dfe Meeresschutzgebiete k\u00f6nnten die Lebensr\u00e4ume der Fische und anderer Meerestiere retten. Bisher sind nur zwei Prozent der Weltmeere gesch\u00fctzt. Wissenschaftler und Wissenschaftlerinnen fordern jedoch, die Schutzgebiete bis 2030 auf rund 30 Prozent auszuweiten.<\/p>\n
