Mit einem 20 mal 30 Meter gro\u00dfen Banner stellen tausende Demoteilnehmer das Ende schmutzigen Kohlestroms in Aussicht.<\/p><\/div>\n

Das sind weit mehr als sich die Veranstalter im Vorfeld ausrechneten: Unglaubliche 50.000 Menschen (Darunter auch Freiwillige von Greenpeace Luxemburg) demonstrieren heute am Hambacher Wald friedlich f\u00fcr einen schnellen Kohleausstieg und gegen die Zerst\u00f6rung des Waldes. Es ist die bislang gr\u00f6\u00dfte Anti-Kohle-Demonstration im Rheinischen Revier. Zwar kam es wegen Staus und \u00dcberlastung der Bahn zu Verz\u00f6gerungen bei der Anreise, doch noch bis zum sp\u00e4ten Nachmittag werden tausende Menschen am Wald ankommen.<\/p>\n

Die Veranstalter der Gro\u00dfdemonstration, die Initiative Buirer f\u00fcr Buir, der Bund f\u00fcr Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland (BUND), Campact, Greenpeace und die Naturfreunde Deutschlands, fordern gemeinsam mit den Teilnehmern von der Bundesregierung einen z\u00fcgigen Ausstieg aus der klimasch\u00e4dlichen Kohle und von dem Energiekonzern RWE einen Komplettverzicht auf die geplante Rodung des Hambacher Waldes. Noch gestern musste das Demo-B\u00fcndnis die Genehmigung f\u00fcr die Kundgebung mit einem Eilantrag gerichtlich einklagen.<\/p>\n

Famili\u00e4rer, friedlicher Protest<\/h3>\n

Die Demonstration verlief wie die \u00fcberwiegende Mehrheit der Proteste rund um den Hambacher Wald bislang friedlich, viele Familien mit Kindern sind gekommen. Bekannte K\u00fcnstler wie die Band Revolverheld unterst\u00fctzen die Gro\u00dfdemonstration.<\/p>\n

Auch online sprechen sich immer mehr Menschen f\u00fcr entschlossenen Klimaschutz und gegen die Abholzung des Waldes aus. Mehr als 800.000 Menschen unterst\u00fctzen bereits den Online-Appell\u00a0\u201eHambacher Wald: Retten statt roden\u201c<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Greenpeace Deutschland-Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer Martin Kaiser sagt, der heutige Tag zeige, wie stark die Klimabewegung mittlerweile sei: \u201eSie hat RWEs r\u00fccksichtslose Kohlepl\u00e4ne gestoppt und sendet damit ein klares Signal Richtung Berlin: Hunderttausende Menschen wollen, dass der Ausstieg aus der Kohle schon heute beginnt.\u00a0<\/em>\u201c\u00a0Nun k\u00f6nne die Kohlekommission endlich ohne RWEs St\u00f6rfeuer an ihrem Auftrag arbeiten. \u201eKein Wald, kein Dorf, keine Kirche d\u00fcrfen mehr f\u00fcr klimasch\u00e4dliche Kohle geopfert werden.<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n
