Amazonie, Australie, Indon\u00e9sie, Sib\u00e9rie, chaque jour des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes pr\u00e9cieux partent en fum\u00e9e et une biodiversit\u00e9 majestueuse dispara\u00eet. Pourquoi ? Pour qui ? <\/p>\n\n

Qu’est ce que la d\u00e9forestation import\u00e9e ?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

C’est l’importation d’un produit qui a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la d\u00e9forestation. Et aussi surprenant que cela puisse para\u00eetre , la complicit\u00e9 internationale des plus grands comme des plus petits \u00c9tats est prouv\u00e9e : les produits que nous consommons peuvent \u00eatre li\u00e9s \u00e0 la d\u00e9forestation au bout du monde\u2026 m\u00eame s\u2019ils paraissent locaux !\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Le Luxembourg contribue-t-il \u00e0 la d\u00e9forestation ?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Oui. Sur le territoire luxembourgeois, nous importons 27 milliers de tonnes de soja produit hors Europe et notamment en Am\u00e9rique du sud : cela correspond \u00e0 11.000 hectares de terres exploit\u00e9es \u00e0 travers le monde pour le Luxembourg<\/strong>, ou encore 187m2\/par personne de terres arables cultiv\u00e9es outre-mer chaque ann\u00e9e ! Et ce, rien que pour le soja import\u00e9 !<\/p>\n\n

Ces chiffres sont tr\u00e8s similaires chez nos pays voisins (169m2\/h en Allemagne et 184m2\/h en France). Nous avons tout\u00b7es un r\u00f4le \u00e0 jouer. [Spoiler : nous savons lequel, mais avons encore quelques infos \u00e0 vous partager.]<\/p>\n\n

Qui consomme ce soja au Luxembourg ?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Alors non, les tofu-lovers ne sont pas \u00e0 bl\u00e2mer : tout ce soja import\u00e9 n’est pas destin\u00e9 \u00e0 l’humain ! Pour nous, le soja europ\u00e9en suffit amplement. Au Luxembourg, les importations de soja sont tr\u00e8s majoritairement dop\u00e9es par l\u2019industrialisation de notre \u00e9levage de bovins pour la production de lait “local” : sachant que plus de 60 % du lait cru est export\u00e9 <\/strong>en dehors de nos terres. Oui, 60 % ex-por-t\u00e9 !<\/p>\n\n

Le soja est pourtant souvent cultiv\u00e9 sur les cendres d\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes essentiels comme le Cerrado ou la for\u00eat amazonienne, alors qu\u2019il suffirait de mieux g\u00e9rer l’exploitation de nos riches sols europ\u00e9ens.<\/p>\n\n

Viande, lait, c\u00e9r\u00e9ales, huile de palme : mieux consommer pour prot\u00e9ger les animaux, les humains et les for\u00eats<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

Des for\u00eats ras\u00e9es pour l’\u00e9levage industriel de viande<\/strong> ou encore pour planter du soja<\/strong> qui nourrit le b\u00e9tail<\/strong> de notre lait luxembourgeois<\/strong>, la d\u00e9forestation import\u00e9e ne concerne pas seulement le soja d\u2019Amazonie. \u00c0 travers le monde, les habitats naturels de nombreuses esp\u00e8ces sont saccag\u00e9s comme en Indon\u00e9sie, o\u00f9 les orangs-outans voient leurs arbres br\u00fbler au profit de l\u2019huile de palme qui sera export\u00e9e pour des biscuits ou du shampoing. Un massacre qui contribue \u00e0 la destruction de la troisi\u00e8me for\u00eat tropicale du monde.<\/p>\n\n

Un changement de paradigme dans notre agriculture <\/strong>et notre industrie alimentaire<\/strong> est donc absolument n\u00e9cessaire pour freiner les d\u00e9g\u00e2ts sur l\u2019environnement, la biodiversit\u00e9 et le climat. Et ensemble, nous pouvons impulser ce changement !<\/p>\n\n

Pouvons-nous vraiment changer quelque chose ?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

Bien s\u00fbr ! Mais c\u2019est la r\u00e9union des efforts communs qui fera la diff\u00e9rence\u00a0 : d\u2019une part, nos expert\u00b7es travaillent au sein de la coalition Meng Landwirtschaft pour obtenir une Politique Agricole Commune (PAC) ambitieuse et durable \u00e0 niveaux europ\u00e9ens. Et de notre c\u00f4t\u00e9, nous allons augmenter la pression sur notre Premier ministre Xavier Bettel ainsi que sur le ministre de l\u2019agriculture Romain Schneider, afin de cr\u00e9er une strat\u00e9gie nationale contre la d\u00e9forestation import\u00e9e <\/span><\/strong>: nous devons nous assurer que nos importations, \u00e0 commencer par celles de soja, ne contribuent en aucune fa\u00e7on \u00e0 la d\u00e9forestation, \u00e0 la d\u00e9gradation des for\u00eats ou \u00e0 la conversion d\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes naturels !<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
