On vous explique pourquoi cet herbicide est si controvers\u00e9 et pourquoi il revient malgr\u00e9 tout dans nos champs\u2026 et nos assiettes !<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Le glyphosate est-il dangereux pour la sant\u00e9 ?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>En 2015, l\u2019OMS (Organisation Mondiale de la Sant\u00e9) a class\u00e9 le glyphosate comme <strong>canc\u00e9rig\u00e8ne probable<\/strong>. Et ce n\u2019est pas pour rien : le glyphosate est un poison pour la Terre et tous les \u00eatres qui la peuplent. Ce produit chimique toxique a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u pour lutter contre les herbes adventices (non d\u00e9sir\u00e9es), mais il a \u00e9galement des cons\u00e9quences d\u00e9vastatrices sur les micro-organismes du sol et donc les insectes pollinisateurs, les oiseaux, les mammif\u00e8res. Car en contaminant les sols, les cours d&#8217;eau et les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes, le glyphosate entra\u00eene une r\u00e9duction significative de la biodiversit\u00e9 locale et participe ainsi, \u00e0 son \u00e9chelle, \u00e0 la grave crise mondiale d\u2019extinction des esp\u00e8ces v\u00e9g\u00e9tales et animales, au m\u00eame temps qu\u2019il met en p\u00e9ril la sant\u00e9 humaine.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Y a-t-il des alternatives au glyphosate ?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Bien s\u00fbr. Et la meilleure est sans nul doute <strong>l\u2019agriculture \u00e9cologique<\/strong> qui fait d\u00e9j\u00e0 ses preuves sur les terres vertes luxembourgeoises. Pas besoin de s\u2019intoxiquer \u00e0 coup de pesticides, ni engrais synth\u00e9tiques pour faire pousser notre nourriture, au contraire il s\u2019agit de favoriser les m\u00e9thodes les plus saines comme la permaculture pour pr\u00e9server la biodiversit\u00e9 et la sant\u00e9 humaine. Les pratiques agricoles durables sont tout simplement plus respectueuses de l&#8217;environnement mais aussi des personnes qui produisent et\/ou consomment les aliments qui poussent sur ces sols.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Comment le Luxembourg avait-il r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 interdire le glyphosate en 2021 ?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Et bien gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une mobilisation massive de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile luxembourgeoise, face au verdict de l\u2019OMS. En effet, une grand partie des citoyen\u00b7es se sont alli\u00e9\u00b7es \u00e0 Greenpeace et de nombreuses autres associations pour soutenir l\u2019interdiction de la substance au Luxembourg d\u00e8s 2015. Un geste tr\u00e8s fort qui prouvait la force de la mobilisation citoyenne !<\/p>\n\n<p>Mais nous ne nous sommes bien s\u00fbr pas arr\u00eat\u00e9s aux supermarch\u00e9s, car c\u2019est au niveau l\u00e9gislatif, national comme europ\u00e9en, que tout doit se jouer. Ce sont ainsi les <strong>1 million de signataires de l\u2019initiative europ\u00e9enne \u201cStop Glyphosate\u201d <\/strong>en 2017 qui ont impuls\u00e9 le d\u00e9bat sur l\u2019interdiction du produit au sein de l\u2019UE. La Commission europ\u00e9enne d\u00e9cide alors de donner un sursis au d\u00e9sherbant en attendant son \u00e9valuation par L\u2019Agence europ\u00e9enne des produits chimiques (ECHA) et l\u2019Autorit\u00e9 europ\u00e9enne de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des aliments (EFSA) pr\u00e9vue d\u2019abord en 2022, puis en attente de verdict pour fin 2023 au plus tard.<\/p>\n\n<p>Alors en attendant une d\u00e9cision ferme de l\u2019UE, le grand duch\u00e9 a pouss\u00e9 le bouchon plus loin : <strong>le Luxembourg \u00e9tait ainsi le premier pays Union europ\u00e9enne \u00e0 interdire l\u2019herbicide en janvier 2020 <\/strong>(effectif en 2021), et pouvait en \u00eatre fier. Victoire ! Enfin, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce mois d\u2019avril 2023 o\u00f9 tout a bascul\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pourquoi le Luxembourg a-t-il r\u00e9autoris\u00e9 la vente et l\u2019utilisation du glyphosate en 2023 ?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Parce que Bayer (le fameux groupe pharmaceutique qui a rachet\u00e9 Monsanto, grand cr\u00e9ateur du glyphosate) a saisi le Tribunal administratif de Luxembourg pr\u00e9textant que le fait de retirer du march\u00e9 les produits contenant du glyphosate, dont le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre <strong>Roundup<\/strong>, \u00e9tait contraire au droit europ\u00e9en. Car \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle de l\u2019UE, la substance active est en effet autoris\u00e9e jusqu\u2019\u00e0 fin 2023, et la possibilit\u00e9 de prolonger cette autorisation est seulement \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tude.<\/p>\n\n<p>Bayer accuse donc le Luxembourg de ne pas pouvoir justifier une interdiction totale d\u2019ici-l\u00e0, c&#8217;est-\u00e0-dire <strong>prouver que le glyphosate pr\u00e9sente un risque inacceptable pour la sant\u00e9 humaine et animale sur son territoire,<\/strong> \u00ab en raison de ses caract\u00e9ristiques \u00e9cologiques ou agricoles particuli\u00e8res \u00bb. Les motivations de l\u2019interdiction au Luxembourg ne sont donc pour le moment pas consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme assez pertinentes,&nbsp; la Cour administrative du Luxembourg a d\u00fb prononcer l\u2019annulation de l\u2019interdiction effective en 2021 et donc autoriser la r\u00e9insertion du produit sur le territoire.<\/p>\n\n<p>D\u00e9rout\u00e9, le ministre de l&#8217;Agriculture Claude Hagen continue de recommander, \u00e0 raison, de ne pas employer ce type de pesticide.
