Luxembourg, <\/em>le 19 f\u00e9vrier 2024 <\/em>– Cette ann\u00e9e encore, le Luxembourg peut se targuer d\u2019\u00eatre le champion d\u2019Europe en termes de consommation des ressources, puisque c\u2019est le premier \u00c9tat europ\u00e9en \u00e0 atteindre son jour du d\u00e9passement, le 20 f\u00e9vrier. Greenpeace Luxembourg a parad\u00e9 avec lion rouge et son titre de champion d\u2019Europe dans les rues de la capitale, en partageant ce constat amer avec les personnes pr\u00e9sentes : la population du Luxembourg consomme en quelques semaines ce que la Terre met une ann\u00e9e \u00e0 produire.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

L’empreinte \u00e9cologique du Luxembourg est l’une des plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es au monde : il nous faudrait plus de 7 plan\u00e8tes<\/a> si l\u2019ensemble des \u00eatres humains consommaient comme un\u00b7e habitant\u00b7e du Grand-Duch\u00e9. Transports, alimentation trop carn\u00e9e et consommation d’\u00e9nergie contribuent entre autres \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9puisement des ressources naturelles et au r\u00e9chauffement climatique. Bien que la tendance soit \u00e0 une diminution des \u00e9missions, les efforts restent insuffisants pour r\u00e9duire de fa\u00e7on significative l\u2019empreinte environnementale du Luxembourg, la racine du probl\u00e8me r\u00e9sidant dans notre d\u00e9pendance \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9nergie carbon\u00e9e, ainsi que dans l\u2019\u00e9ternelle course \u00e0 la croissance pour la croissance.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Pour Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Meys, charg\u00e9 de campagne chez Greenpeace Luxembourg<\/strong>,  \u00ab les d\u00e9cisions les plus d\u00e9terminantes, comme une taxation plus verte, ne sont pas faciles \u00e0 prendre dans un contexte violent pour les populations les plus d\u00e9favoris\u00e9es. Les diff\u00e9rentes crises repoussent les choix difficiles \u00e0 prendre mais n\u00e9cessaires afin d\u2019orienter correctement la consommation et la production vers un avenir plus durable. L\u2019urgence climatique nous impose de trouver les ressources n\u00e9cessaires pour accompagner l\u2019ensemble de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. \u00bb<\/em> <\/p>\n\n

Or le Luxembourg n\u2019a jamais cr\u00e9\u00e9 autant de richesse qu\u2019aujourd\u2019hui. Les entreprises des secteurs les plus polluants ne sont pas suffisamment incit\u00e9es \u00e0 r\u00e9duire leur empreinte environnementale ni mises \u00e0 contribution pour les d\u00e9g\u00e2ts qu’elles causent. \u00c0 force d\u2019orienter la croissance vers le profit \u00e0 court terme, l\u2019impact environnemental de nos choix n\u2019est pas pris en compte, laissant \u00e0 nos enfants le soin de se d\u00e9brouiller pour r\u00e9soudre les probl\u00e8mes que nos g\u00e9n\u00e9rations ont caus\u00e9.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

\u00ab Le temps presse et en affaiblissant les mesures de protection de la nature, les mauvaises nouvelles sur le front climatique et de la biodiversit\u00e9 risquent de se multiplier jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l’effondrement total \u00bb<\/em>, d\u00e9plore Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Meys. Greenpeace demande au gouvernement de ne pas r\u00e9duire les mesures prises pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment et d\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer la transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique au Luxembourg gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes mesures comme l\u2019augmentation de la taxation CO2<\/sub>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
