What is it about bad relationships that keep us coming back for more, despite knowing how toxic the relationship is affecting us and all that we love?

We\u2019ve seen the signs – our reliance on plastic has become a part of our daily routines. From the moment we wake up to brush our teeth, to the endless plastic packaged goods lining the supermarket aisles when we buy our groceries or buy stuff online.

We totally get it. Starting can be difficult, especially when you don\u2019t know how or where to start. So we\u2019re here for you – to help you move on toward better things with a reminder to take it one step at a time, while giving you some tips and reasons why the breakup might be exactly what you need.<\/p>\n\n

Remember your RE-s<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

1. REDUCE<\/strong>
Get out of that toxic relationship by reducing your exposure to garbage like throwaway plastics. Wave goodbye to a future filled with plastic waste! First step? Start small by refusing<\/em><\/strong> unnecessary single-use, like plastic bags, straws and plastic wraps. And save up by rethinking<\/em><\/strong> before you buy something you don\u2019t really need. Recycling should be the last option.<\/strong>

2. REUSE<\/strong>
Breaking up with plastics doesn\u2019t mean you have to start getting rid of all the stuff that you accumulated over the years. Instead, make good use of them for years to come! Reuse those shopping bags, that plastic food container you got, or glass bottles from your coffee purchase. You can even help those plastic water bottles serve a new purpose in your household. Repair <\/em><\/strong>and repurpose<\/em><\/strong> them. Let your imagination run wild!

3. REFILL<\/strong>
So what do you do now if you need to buy something? Well, you can always refill<\/em><\/strong> ~ Get that used plastic, glass, stainless steel or any kind of container you have lying around at home and find a store that lets you refill. Whether it’s encouraging traditional mom and pop stores to start their refill movement, or visiting local zero waste or bulk stores. You can even start supporting conventional supermarkets to make the switch!

It\u2019s never too late to start and failing is just a part of learning. So just try and try again!
