A recognised leader in sustainable development and international environmental governance, Leo brings over two decades of experience bridging government, civil society, and global institutions to advance equitable climate and development solutions.<br><br>\u201cIt\u2019s a privilege to join Greenpeace Southeast Asia at a time when our region stands on the frontline of the climate crisis,\u201d said Leo Horn-Phathanothai. \u201cThe challenges before us, from climate change to biodiversity loss, demand courage, creativity, and collaboration across all sectors of society. I\u2019m inspired to support Greenpeace\u2019s efforts to drive systemic change and champion climate justice for all.\u201d<br><br>Most recently, Leo led the organisation and delivery of the first-ever Bangkok Climate Action Week, a landmark regional platform bringing together policymakers, businesses, and civil society to accelerate climate action in Southeast Asia. Before that, he served for over a decade as a Senior Director at the World Resources Institute (WRI), where he helped forge transformative partnerships and mobilised more than USD 350 million in funding to drive global progress on sustainability and equity.<br><br>Leo has also held senior positions with the United Nations, the World Bank, and the UK Government\u2019s Department for International Development. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Just Transitions Incubator (JUTI), an organisation he founded, and President for Innovation and Sustainability at Strategy613 Ltd. He is also Professor of Practice at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, Senior Adviser to Systemiq, and Affiliated Researcher with both Chiang Mai University\u2019s School of Public Policy and the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) Asia.<br><br>Greenpeace Southeast Asia also extends its heartfelt gratitude to Angela Chen, who has stepped down after serving on the Board since 2019. Angela brought with her extensive experience in strategic planning, fundraising, programme management, and business development across Asia and Africa. A passionate advocate for education reform, she has held key leading roles including Asia Regional Director for the Educational Development Center (EDC) and positions with the World Bank.<br><br>\u201cAngela\u2019s leadership has been a source of clarity and stability in moments of change,\u201d said Veerawit Tianchainan, Executive Director of Greenpeace Southeast Asia. \u201cShe brought steady guidance, strategic insight, and a genuine belief in people\u2019s power to build a better world. Her contributions have strengthened the organisation\u2019s mission, and we are grateful for her years of dedicated service.
