Some years, the planet asks for patience. Some years, it asks for courage. 2025 asked for both.

Across Southeast Asia, the water rose. The forests fell. The storms got louder. And still, people showed up with boats, with banners, with data, with their voices, with their lives. They held the line.

Four mining permits.<\/strong>\u00a0Revoked in Raja Ampat, Indonesia, after a paddle-out protest and a 3,000-nautical-mile expedition turned public outrage into presidential action. One of the last truly intact marine biodiversity strongholds on Earth, still standing.

Two coal mines.<\/strong>\u00a0Cancelled in northern Thailand, after five years of communities refusing to let their watershed forests become someone else\u2019s power plant.

103 survivors.<\/strong>\u00a0Turned petitioners. Turned history. Filipino families who lived through Super Typhoon Odette walked into a UK courtroom and told Shell:\u00a0we are not paying for your emissions anymore.<\/strong>

89 youth leaders.<\/strong>\u00a0From Papua. From the Amazon. From the Congo Basin. From Borneo. Gathered under the trees they\u2019re fighting to save, and wrote the future in a single sentence:\u00a0the answer has always been here. The answer is us.<\/strong>

None of this happened by accident. It happened because fishers, activists, impact communities, youth leaders refused to stay quiet. And because evidence, organising and sheer persistence can still move governments and corporations that seem impossible to shift.
