The role is responsible for the delivery of timely, accurate, and meaningful financial information and advice to the organization\u2019s stakeholders, including Budget holders, the Leadership Team, the Finance and Audit Committee, and the Board; Greenpeace International and statutory bodies.<\/p>\n\n<p>This role has a strong emphasis on budgeting and forecasting and is responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards; internal policies and procedures; taxation and other relevant statutory obligations within and across the countries in which Greenpeace MENA operates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>SCOPE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The Finance Manager works closely with the Executive Director (ED) in the development and implementation of GPMENA\u2019s financial strategy. In order to fulfill this role, it is essential that the Finance &amp; Administration Manager work closely with key stakeholders in order to identify the business drivers that impact revenue and expenditure. They must be capable of communicating the short and long-term financial position of the organization and relevant, meaningful information that helps the organization achieve its objectives. The job holder is required to be experienced with all operational facets of the finance function and provide direct support to the various roles within the team.<\/p>\n\n<p>The role will proactively identify opportunities for improvement in financial policy, processes, systems, and practices in order to ensure financial controls are appropriately calibrated, the function is efficient and takes advantage of technological innovations, and the provision of information and advice is timely and high quality.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>MANAGERIAL AND FISCAL RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>LEAD, MOTIVATE, and INSPIRE<\/strong> staff to ensure the effective performance of the Finance &amp; Administration department&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DELEGATE<\/strong> tasks and projects appropriately so there are clear expectations of the standards of work&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ESTABLISH<\/strong> <strong>and MONITOR<\/strong> Finance team members&#8217; personal development objectives and hold regular one-on-one supervisory meetings&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DEVELOP and MAINTAIN<\/strong> a comprehensive understanding of the finance function and role of each team member&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DEVELOP<\/strong> budget in accordance with agreed organization objectives and priorities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Manage and oversee <\/strong>the daily accounting operations&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>APPROVE<\/strong> and <strong>MONITOR<\/strong> expenditure as per expense management policy to ensure the most effective and transparent use of our financial resources.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>INFORMATION, ANALYSIS, AND ADVICE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>DIRECT<\/strong> the financial affairs of the organization by implementing the decisions of the Senior Management Team and Board of Directors&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ADVISE<\/strong> the ED on the development of the organization&#8217;s business plan, financial strategy, and other financial initiatives&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PRODUCE <\/strong>punctual, accurate, and complete monthly financial reports and Investigate variances and queries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PROVIDE<\/strong> financial analysis support and advice to budget holders&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>COORDINATE <\/strong>the preparation of the annual budget, global reporting pack (ODP Budget Pack)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>EVALUATE<\/strong> fundraising performance and income projections&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PROVIDE<\/strong> financial information and advice to support managers and budget holders achieve their objectives&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ENSURE <\/strong>balance sheet reconciliations are complete, accurate, timely, and meaningful&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ENSURE <\/strong>budget\/forecast ledger(s) reflects budget allocations and attend to timely re-forecast of payroll budgets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>WORK<\/strong> with ED to produce timely, accurate financial reports for the Board&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ENSURE<\/strong> intercompany transactions are reported and accounted for within specified timeframes&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ENSURE<\/strong> accurate and timely reporting to Greenpeace International: Internal Recharges, Quarterly Management Reporting, Year-end financial reporting, Organizational Development Plan, and 3 Years Plan.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LEAD<\/strong> <strong>and or<\/strong> <strong>PARTICIPATE<\/strong> in ad-hoc finance duties and organizational projects as they arise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>COMPLIANCE AND CONTROLS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>CREATE <\/strong>effective<strong> <\/strong>financial controls according to best practices<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ENSURE<\/strong> that financial risks are identified, understood, and monitored and that there are systems in place to mitigate risks without compromising GP MENA\u2019s capacity for effective action&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MAINTAIN<\/strong> contemporary knowledge of taxation and ensure activities of GP MENA are reported as appropriate&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ADDRESS and<\/strong> <strong>DISCLOSE<\/strong> non-compliance with policies and procedures&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PREPARE<\/strong> accounts and records for Annual Audit and global Year End Reporting pack&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ENACT<\/strong> relevant external audit recommendations&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MONITOR &amp; ASSESS<\/strong> accuracy of accounting entries, payroll payment, deductions, and superannuation contributions&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ASSIST<\/strong> ED with identifying the impact of changes in relevant accounting policies and tax laws&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ENSURE<\/strong> information is accurately and logically filed for organizational records&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ENSURE<\/strong> duties are conducted in compliance with relevant policies and procedures, accounting standards, and law<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>TREASURY MANAGEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>ENSURE<\/strong> adequacy of financial controls over cash and commitments&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>OVERSEE<\/strong> the administration of advances and credit cards&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MONITOR<\/strong> cash level of administration account to ensure sufficient funds are available to fund weekly expenditure&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>COORDINATE<\/strong> foreign currency transactions&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ENSURE<\/strong> actual and anticipated liquidity positions based on budgets and forecasts are prepared&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>OVERSEE<\/strong> maintenance of signatories and account authorities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>INFRASTRUCTURE AND ASSET MANAGEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>ENSURE<\/strong> all Fixed Assets are recorded and the Fixed Assets Register is kept up to date&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MAINTAIN<\/strong> the chart of accounts and reporting streams&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>REFINE<\/strong> financial reporting in line with new technologies and changing organizational priorities&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DEVELOP, IMPROVE, MAINTAIN,<\/strong> <strong>and<\/strong> <strong>DOCUMENT <\/strong>finance procedures and processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>EFFECTIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>BUILD and FOSTER<\/strong> good working relationships across the organization and work well in a team&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DEVELOP and<\/strong> <strong>MAINTAIN<\/strong> awareness amongst budget holders of relevant Greenpeace (local and international) finance policy and procedures&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PROVIDE<\/strong> training and inductions as necessary on relevant finance policy and procedures&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>CONTRIBUTE<\/strong>, where appropriate, to the development of the finance function across the organization&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ACT <\/strong>as the point of contact for external auditors and the global finance community&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ESTABLISH<\/strong> good working relations with key personnel across the organization and with Greenpeace staff internationally<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;<strong>LIAISE <\/strong>with external institutions as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Educational Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Degree qualified (Professional qualification in accounting &amp; finance): Bachelor or Master&#8217;s degree in business, finance &amp; accounting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CPA, CFA, or CA qualification and\/or demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Accounting Standards is a plus&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Expertise<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A minimum of (5) years of experience as a Financial Manager in \u201cINGO is Mandatory\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A minimum of (5) years of experience in managing month-end and year-end accounts&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience working in small teams&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in non for profit area\/similar global organizations.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good understanding of taxation legislation in the MENA region&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Logical thinking of accounting treatment&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extensive experience with accounting systems and processes&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent spoken and written Arabic &amp;
