PROJECT\u2019S SCOPE <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The Islam & Climate project is an innovative and experimental\nendeavor aimed at contributing to the creation of a climate movement in the\nMuslim world by exploring Islam as a vector of engagement and mobilsation. The\nproject will be implemented by a number of Greenpeace offices, Muslim\norganisations, and other allies.<\/p>\n\n

OVERALL PURPOSE<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The overall purpose of this role is to lead on the development,\ncoordination, and implementation of an effective digital engagement strategy to\nachieve the Islam & Climate project objectives and ensure maximum impact.\nThe job holder will need to provide guidance and support to the project\u2019s\nexternal allies and other Greenpeace offices globally to ensure consistency\nacross digital engagement efforts in order to realize the project\u2019s\nobjectives.  <\/p>\n\n

SCOPE<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n\n

The post holder is line managed by the Project Leader and will support\nthe delivery of the overall Islam & Climate project whilst specifically\nleading the development of the global digital engagement strategy for the\nproject and ensuring its effective implementation in GP MENA, whilst also\nworking with the project\u2019s stakeholders in Greenpeace International, other\nGreenpeace offices and ally organisations to realize the projects digital\nengagement objectives and curate a vibrant digital community around it.<\/p>\n\n

The responsibilities require considerable independence and initiative\nfrom the post holder. Decisions made by the post holder will impact the overall\nsuccess of the global project.<\/p>\n\n

RESPONSIBILITIES<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

PROJECT DIGITAL\nENGAGEMENT STRATEGY <\/strong>Lead\non the development and coordination of the project\u2019s global digital engagement\nstrategy with our external allies and digital officers from other Greenpeace\noffices. Support other Greenpeace offices in developing their digital\nengagement strategies as well as developing the regional engagement and digital\nstrategy for Greenpeace MENA.<\/p>\n\n

IMPLEMENTATION <\/strong>Lead on the implementation of the project\u2019s\nregional digital engagement strategy for Greenpeace MENA. Coordinate and\nprovide support and guidance to other Greenpeace offices and our external\nallies in implementing jointly agreed digital engagement strategies and plans. <\/p>\n\n

GREENPEACE MENA\nCOORDINATION <\/strong>Support the\nsuccessful delivery of the Islam & Climate project, working with the other\nteam members to achieve the overall theory of change. Coordinate with\nGreenpeace MENA communications and the digitaldepartment to ensure smooth and coordinated usage of Greenpeace\nMENA channels and resources and alignment with Greenpeace MENA objectives.\nCoordinate additionally with the communication and digital departments of other\ninvolved Greenpeace offices. <\/p>\n\n

ANALYSIS <\/strong>Carry out periodical analysis of the digital\nengagement strategies implementation and capitalise on learning to optimize\nperformance. Develop, implement and maintain reports across all types of\nengagement data. <\/p>\n\n

RESEARCH <\/strong>Conduct on-going research into emerging\ntechnologies, trends, methods, platforms and software solutions. Understand the\nemergence of new products or business processes which may be of benefit to the\nproject from a digital engagement perspective.<\/p>\n\n

KEY INFLUENCERS <\/strong>Secure the support of digital key influencers\nin the implementation of the digital engagement strategy and coordinate their\nparticipation in order to boost the project’s impact and achieve its\nobjectives.   <\/p>\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Experience: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

  • A minimum of\n5 years of professional experience in guiding digital engagement strategy\ndevelopment, preferably with global and\/or regional experience<\/li>
  • A proven\ntrack record of developing & delivering successful digital engagement\nstrategies including the ability to formulate and implement a digital\nengagement strategy within complex teams.<\/li>
  • A proven\ntrack record in carrying efficient and clear digital engagement performance\nanalysis<\/li>
  • A track\nrecord of working with digital key influencers to drive successful campaigns<\/li><\/ul>\n\n

    Organizational Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

    • Ability to\nbuild strong interpersonal relationships, in particular working with\ncross-cultural and global teams and those in external organisations. <\/li>
    • Ability to\nlead, motivate and instill passion<\/li>
    • Project management and the ability to\ncoordinate with other organisations<\/li>
    • Highly developed analytical, planning and\nreporting skills.<\/li>
    • Highly experienced with segmentation and data\nmanagement.<\/li>
    • Innovative\nand creative<\/li>
    • Autonomous,\nflexible and agile. <\/li>
    • Knowledge\nsharing – Values diversity, in particular, experience in working in an\ninternational environment and coordination of rollouts across global markets.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n

      Functional Competencies<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

      • Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English<\/li>
      • Good verbal\nand written communications skills <\/li>
      • A good\nunderstanding of the MENA region and of the Islam faith & culture<\/li>
      • French and\nadditional languages are a plus<\/li><\/ul>\n\n

It has always been great to end the day with an outing with the team, or a heated debate about current events. A week in the office was never complete without some kind of activity that brought us together as people, celebrating our passion for life, hobbies and interests, and - I must admit, several practical jokes! Moving our work online has definitely had an impact on our relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners Somehow it feels like we\u2019ve been invited to become part of each other\u2019s lives at home: parents, partners, children and pets have now become regular guests on our video calls.
