What is the meaning of Greenpeace?<\/div>

Greenpeace is an independent global organization campaigning to ensure a peaceful and sustainable world for future generations. Greenpeace stands for positive change through action. We defend the natural world and promote peace. We investigate, expose and confront environmental abuse by governments and corporations around the world. We champion environmentally responsible and socially just solutions, including scientific and technical innovation.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

What is Greenpeace’s mission?<\/div>

Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action. The underlying goal of all our work is a green and peaceful world \u2013 an earth that is ecologically healthy and able to nurture life in all its diversity. Greenpeace\u2019s goal is to ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity. Greenpeace campaigns are geared towards a sustainable planet.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

How is Greenpeace organized?<\/div>

Greenpeace is present in more than 55 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and the Pacific. Greenpeace consists of Greenpeace International in Amsterdam, and Greenpeace national and regional offices.

Greenpeace International monitors the organisational development, oversees our fleet of ships, coordinates planning and implementation of our global campaigns and monitors compliance with core policies.

How is Greenpeace funded?<\/div>

Greenpeace is funded mostly by individual supporters\u2019 donations and charitable foundations\u2019 funding. We do not accept money from governments, corporations, or political parties, allowing us to maintain our independence and take bold actions. We are committed to transparency in how we use these funds, ensuring they go directly to our campaigns and efforts to protect the environment. How did Greenpeace start?<\/div>

In 1971, motivated by the vision of a green and peaceful world, a small team of activists set sail from Vancouver, Canada, in an old fishing boat. These activists, the founders of Greenpeace, believed a few individuals could make a difference. Nowadays, Greenpeace has 2.8 million supporters worldwide and a presence in 41 countries.

In the Philippines, Greenpeace began its journey in the March 2000, driven by the same passion and commitment to environmental protection. Over the years, Greenpeace Philippines has grown into a vital force for environmental advocacy in the country, leading campaigns on climate justice, plastic pollution, and the preservation of biodiversity.
