Now, due to sea level rise, the waves gently lap at her doorstep. Fond memories of fishing on the river and pier with her mom are now threatened as the sea damages their coastal haven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emily&#8217;s educational journey reflects the impact; her elementary school, succumbing to the sea, closed its doors, prompting her relocation to another town. The old school, battered by relentless waves, had to shut its doors, leaving behind echoes of laughter replaced by the sombre sound of crashing waves.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first row of houses succumbed to the sea. Emily&#8217;s friend Nata, who now resides in the remnants of her grandmother&#8217;s house, embodies the resilient spirit, reconstructing a tin-made house after losing his home to the unforgiving
