This change emphasises the urgent need to address climate-related challenges to their homes and way of life.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the heart of Batasan Island, Bohol, Annie&#8217;s wooden stilt house, standing for 53 years, epitomises the islanders&#8217; unwavering connection to place. Annie, sleepless in the island&#8217;s wee hours, confronts rising waters \u2014 a daily struggle to protect their homes. Refusing relocation, she treasures her island home that has nurtured generations\u2014a sanctuary against the encroaching uncertainties of a changing world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet, the irony is poignant as Annie passionately pleads for climate polluters to cease environmental destruction, highlighting the suffering inflicted on communities like hers, caught in the crossfire of climate change. With a firm tone, he emphasised that their survival should be the first priority. Annie stood in awe, witnessing the swift rise of water levels on the island, leaving her with no choice but to focus on rescuing her family.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As they made their way out of the house, Annie&#8217;s eyes fell upon the crucifix and the Santo Ni\u00f1o. Without hesitation, these sacred items became the only possessions she carried with her. In that critical moment, fear seemed to dissipate, for Annie found solace in the presence of the Santo Ni\u00f1o and the Lord accompanying her on this perilous journey.<\/p>\n\n<div
