Dear Rainbow Warrior,<\/p>\n\n

Once again, this year has been challenging for climate change-vulnerable communities. As Filipinos, we witnessed and experienced firsthand the worsening effects of fossil fuel-charged climate change that destroyed livelihoods and put more people in danger.<\/p>\n\n

Extreme weather events are getting worse. The consecutive intense typhoons Carina, Enteng, and Kristine destroyed homes, roads, and bridges, claimed lives, and costed our economy millions of pesos. Communities will continue to shoulder the brunt of climate change caused by fossil fuel companies and other polluters if they continue business as usual and do not deprioritize profit.<\/p>\n\n

Greenpeace monitored the typhoons and intense flooding in Luzon. We have deployed our teams to extend relief to our partner communities and document the several oil spills that happened in our waters. We also used our social media channels to amplify the donation calls of communities during these times.<\/p>\n\n

These actions will not be possible without your continued support. And we will continue to respond to these emergencies while calling on the Philippines\u2019
and the world\u2019s governments to fossil fuel companies accountable and liable.<\/p>\n\n

As long as carbon majors will continue their business as usual practices, we will continue to resist. We hope that you will continue to support us until the day we will not need to fight for our rights.<\/p>\n\n

Enough of being resilient! Climate change should not be the norm.<\/p>\n\n
