The future treaty has a huge potential to put the world on a path towards a plastic-free future but it will be up to us to make sure that it delivers on its promises.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>We demand an ambitious and strong global plastics treaty that will <strong>cut plastic production and use<\/strong>. <\/strong>A strong global plastics treaty will keep oil and gas used to produce plastic in the ground and stop big polluters with their relentless plastic production. A strong plastics treaty will deliver a cleaner, safer planet for us and for future generations.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cut total plastic production by at least 75% by 2040 to ensure that we are staying below 1.5\u00b0 C for our climate and to protect our health, our rights and our communities;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>changing the way corporations deliver products to people with focus on refill and reuse;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>holding corporate polluters accountable;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>demanding full transparency on plastic production, use, import and export;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>requiring wealthy countries to lead the zero-waste transition and help others;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure Indigenous Peoples, Frontline communities, waste pickers and affected workers have a voice in designing a just transition to a reuse economy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tell world leaders to champion a strong Global Plastics Treaty during upcoming negotiations so that we can finally turn off the tap and end the age of plastic.<\/h4>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ask world leaders to support a strong global plastic treaty that addresses the whole life cycle of plastic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":89,"featured_media":12487,"menu_order":0,"template":"","meta":{"ep_exclude_from_search":false,"action_button_text":"Get Involved","action_button_accessibility_text":"Take action","actions_task_type":"","actions_deadline":"","nav_type":"","p4_hide_page_title_checkbox":"on","p4_og_title":"Let\u2019s end the age of plastic!","p4_og_description":"I support a strong Global Plastics Treaty that limits plastic production and use so that we can finally turn off the tap and end the age of plastic - for our communities, our country, and our planet.
