Why do we need energy to move away from fossil fuels?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Climate change will affect everyone, but the most vulnerable are often the ones who suffer the most. For Southeast Asia this means anything from extreme weather events with huge loss of life, to heatwaves and vector-borne diseases, and higher living costs. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

Who is responsible for the climate crises?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fossil fuel companies have known about climate threats for decades but chose to spread disinformation, delaying climate action. Today, we have the opportunity to transition to renewable energy, which is now more affordable and accessible than ever. Governments, free from fossil fuel influence, can implement strong climate policies, accelerating this shift. In Southeast Asia, reducing dependence on fossil gas and embracing renewables can protect our planet and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come\u200b.<\/p>\n<\/div>

What the green energy future looks like<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our green energy future is bright and achievable. By halting new fossil fuel projects and transitioning from coal by 2030, oil by 2040, and fossil gas by 2050, we can embrace 100% renewable energy by 2050. Investing in solar, wind, and decentralized energy systems, along with innovations in storage and smart grids, will drive this change. Greenpeace advocates for climate reparations, ensuring wealthy nations and corporations support developing countries in their climate efforts\u200b<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
